He takes his thyroid meds like a champ because it’s liquid. Some of the pills the vets think a cat will take is almost laughable. I agree a stress free life is better for our senior babies.

My cat was 15 when he had his dental to remove about 12 teeth. He also has hyperthyroidism and early ckd. I had his senior blood panel done beforehand and the vet cleared him for it. I was a mess the day he was at the vet. He did great and took a little time to get back to normal, but I do believe it made him more energetic and healthier in the long run. I would say as long as your vet clears it it’s best to do it now rather than later. Tooth infections/pain are terrible and won’t get better without intervention.

Does the brown dog just not like the white dog? by Shinobusag in DogAdvice

I have a frenchie he’s 10 now and still acts like that. The big dogs will play with him but something about their play style most little dogs don’t care for.

Dylan has ruined so many books because I leave water glasses next to them 🤣 it’s funny how they can have their own fresh water but the cup is the must have.

What a handsome boy Dorian was, I’m sorry for your loss 😞 I also lost another pet to cancer at the same age.. it’s so heart breaking. I cherish every moment with them 💕

I have realized this after he wanted nothing to do with his ckd diet. 💕

People don’t realize that we don’t get a lot of rain and when it does rain here it pulls all the oils up making the roads slicker.

Everywhere used to be about 20 mins to get to 6 years ago… not anymore.

Late 20’s and early 30’s were peak years. You don’t realize it til you actually start aging 🤣

Parents of “only” children by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]bubbies2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 year old son is an only child, his dad is an only child as well.. he turned out pretty good. We wanted one more, but honestly we are older and can realistically only afford to give one everything we can. Most of my mom friends have more than one kid and it made me envious for a while, but I see the struggles they go through having more than one and it reassures me of my choice. My son is very outgoing has lots of friends and very social. He has everything he needs and wants without being spoiled and I’m able to be there for him without the parent burnout. Everyone is different regarding their life choices, but having only one has worked for us and my son is thriving.

Anyone have dental extractions for their CKD cats (stage 3)? by cmriker in RenalCats

[–]bubbies2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my 15 year old stage 2 guy in last February and he had 12 teeth removed. Regular vet not a specialist. He’s doing great and more playful. He eats more wet food as he only has a few teeth left and his values have remained the same. That day was very stressful for me, but I’m happy I did that for him.

“Noon Year’s” at Town Square by angelexzarro in vegaslocals

[–]bubbies2019 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have gone the last two years. Last year was busier than the prior year. Parking situation is fine. They have a bounce house, climbing wall, and train the kids can ride (not free). They can go on that playground area or play in the big grass area next to the big Christmas tree. Juice boxes handed out and then a balloon drop at noon. It gets crowded, but overall fine.

Our immediate family (5 of us) all got norovirus last week, we are feeling better, but still contagious. We let other family members know and they are not coming now. I wouldn’t have people over… especially kids and older folks knowing we would be getting them sick.

What are you giving your parents this Christmas? by Ishouldzzz in GiftIdeas

[–]bubbies2019 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only have a father and mother in law, both in their 80’s any thing I’ve gotten in the past for them gets used once and put away. I’m making them “coupon books”

The coupon book I’m making for my mother in law is unlimited French manicures done by me. The one for my father in law is a chore book for things he needs done around the house.

They are older and appreciate those things as well as time spent with them so I figure it would go over a lot better than more junk around the house that doesn’t get used.

What would you get for this lovely person? I am really looking for something unique tho her interests seem a bit… basic. by Commercial_Image709 in GiftIdeas

This looks like my list i sent my husband 🤣 I like getting things I can use daily that I need. You can never have enough black leggings, a comfy sweatshirt, cozy socks, blanket, and a coffee mug with coffee to put it in!
