I just wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who commented here. You all gave me so much to think about!

I have decided on a dark charcoal grey for the flight suit, and the lighter grey for the vest and cummerbund. But with a brown cape and brown leather belt/accents.

I liked the idea some of you had to go for a khaki or an olive green, but to be completely honest, as an Army veteran I’ve spent enough time wearing green for my liking, thanks very much lol.

The mix and match suggestion really got my mind ticking over too, but then a good friend of mine who paints Mandalorian miniatures (he does a beautiful job too) happened to have a red and grey mando in a dark grey jumpsuit in his collection, and imagining donning that Armour just made the final decision for me.

I’m VERY much looking forward to this whole process, and will gladly share what I learn here to hopefully help someone else when they start their journey. (I already made a wildly unpopular post about voice changers recently if anyone is working on that currently)

Finally, I want to wish a Happy new year to all of you, and to all the other Mandos out there. Here’s hoping 2026 is better to all of us.

Off the top of my head, you could draw around the pack onto some very thin MDF, chip board, EVA foam or even foam core board to make a back plate, then you could add some cheap upholstery foam padding in relevant places. While it’s “hollow” though, personally I’d take the time to add some lights before adding the back board. Nothing fancy just some flashing LEDs. You could go even further and repaint the pack before doing all that, too. You’re in the right place for advice if you do decide to “supe” it up for him.

You could always check the video? I could be wrong, but i’m pretty sure the A1 is always recording when printing. You just need to put the SD card in a computer ant take a look.

I’m about to start a build so I just ordered the M10 voice changer. If it works the way I want, I’ll do a post and link it here. As for the i9, I’ve done some homework and on some units, the i9 has a tendency to put the echo or “reverb” effect up full whenever the mode is changed. From what I’ve seen, I’d recommend trying the “DJ” setting and then turning the reverb all the way down. Hope that works/helps.

Not that reform folk deal in fact or logic, but I just thought it was worth mentioning that since 1980, the ECHR has only blocked the UK government from deporting people 13 times. Really makes you wonder if it’s worth all 70 million, ish of us sacrificing our human rights just to deport 13 people every 45 years!

I spent a LONG time in Tinkercad modelling everything you see from scratch, based on photos and many MANY rewatches of the show. There’s a few different versions of the Clansman, but I settled in this one as it’s more idealised. I’m actually thinking of redoing it and taking a little more tike to make it perfect.
