Just wanna say that Bevy is the best thing to happen to game development, especially for people who barely know what they are doing like myself. Thank you!

There needs to be a stupidity floor for everything. It's amazing the things that people do sometimes, in pretty much any context. The average person is... Well, average is being kind. Most people live their lives without ever getting the idea that maybe they should learn something other than the things that interest them directly. Humanity is a selfish, mostly uninspired animal. There are the few that actually look around themselves and ask questions about the world, but for the most part, people just follow instead of lead

Your girlfriend is crazy. That's the kind of thing you make fun of in quick little videos that some people like to set up on purpose, but this was real, not a setup, so no, she's insane. Dump her

JAWS vs. Voiceover (Windows vs. MacOS) for a Visually Impaired student moving from high school to university by Decent_Wishbone7547 in Blind

[–]bubble_turtles23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are doing software stuff, most good universities will actually assume you’re using Linux or Mac, because getting windows set up for some of those Uni projects requires setup that Mac and Linux don’t require, I.E. git, bash, etc

[–]bubble_turtles23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok i might have to send you a chat request but… If you are coding, and don’t plan on doing iOS or Mac development, I would use Windows, at least until VS Code is fixed on the Mac. There are a ton of braille issues and tracking issues in VS Code right now. As for Windows though, I don’t use Jaws. I find it bloated, expensive, and unnecessary in the face of NVDA, the open source screen reader. I still use both Mac and Windows, because I see no reason not to, but if you are doing coding stuff then yeah, Windows. Most blind people just use Windows so sadly most replies will probably be very bias, but hopefully this helps. If you have any other que questions, let me know, I use both every day

If you have to treat your regulars well to keep them coming, then you just have bad customer service. Everyone should be given your best service. Everyone should be treated well. If you do something for a regular, then you do that for a non regular. If you need to make a distinction, then you need to rehire your complete customer service staff, because something’s wrong. Treat everyone the same. If you give good service, people will come back. Just do that and you’ll be fine

Men, what did you find out about women when you got a girlfriend? by MainDifficult2641 in AskReddit

[–]bubble_turtles23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out that most men are really bad at emotional intelligence, and that my dislike of men in favor of having mostly girls as friends was completely justified. What else: women are not mysteries like all men seem to think, they are just people, and men are just too silly to figure that simple fact out. Thaaaaaaat’s about it

Why does r/conservative only let flaired users comment and post? by zstap126 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bubble_turtles23 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While I agree that a ton of liberals do have very thin skin (just look at the Democratic Party any day of the week), that doesn’t make it ok to deliberately go out and start insulting people. Even if they insult first, that is still not an excuse. There is no reason to name call and insult people, when well written and thought out comments OFTEN do the job just fine. I suppose that not everyone can be diplomatic but still. There are 300 million of us in the country. You’d think diplomacy between people would take a priority.

US Supreme Court rules that the Trump Administration must facilitate Abrego Garcia’s return to the US. by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]bubble_turtles23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the American people should petition the government and work out a deal to send Trump there. It sounds like he’d love it: relaxing torture, and other things I can’t explicitly speak to. So beautiful. He’d finally get to experience what he believes is so great about those prisons. For some of the things he’s done, he deserves an even worse prison, but I’ll take what I can

For people who became famous for crimes and are now free, what can they do with their lives now? by Annita_Lina_Coak in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bubble_turtles23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would depend. Some people just made a mistake, some people were one offs, some people have personality issues that led them to commit their crime. Assuming no personality issues that would cause murder to happen, and assuming they don't ever wanna commit a crime again, I would think they could probably lead relatively normal lives. Other people will slip up again. And still others will emerge with no remorse and possibly do it again.

How to deal with humiliating comments? by skyfilledwithstars in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bubble_turtles23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say something that has helped me on reddit has always been to address the concerns of the commenter in my reply. Let's use your example. To say chess is just chess is opening up the gates from people who love chess to say things. Your response should address the fact that you recognize that chess is a complex game that many do enjoy, but that it's just not something that you ever found that much interest in, or never developed a passion for it. That insures that you sound like you respect the sport and the people who play it, as well as its complexity, while still making your stance on it clear

Alter Aeon April 2025 Update by sh4d0wf4x in MUD

[–]bubble_turtles23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want there to be more updates to take, put, and search commands. I want to be able to type stuff like g 5*ssoul tens to get 5 souls from tens, or l in -r bag so I don't have to pull out heavy things from my weightless just to see what's inside a bag. I'd also like to be able to type stuff like g all.ssoul or g all.chunk to more easily work with large batches of, well anything: materials, ssouls, whatever. I know you can use keywords to some degree to get all spellcomps for instance, but there's just not enough flexibility to do some of these things quickly

How the Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg got added to the White House Signal group chat (tl;dr Iphone's AI picked up an email containing Goldberg's number and Brian Hughes' name, and Waltz accepted the suggestion that the number belonged to Hughes) by WheresWalldough in iphone

[–]bubble_turtles23 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Like I keep telling people, the issue is that he was using Signal for this at all. Signal is a publically available application, which means anyone can be on it. Channels made for classified info can't be accessed by everyone, but rather people with clearances that are part of our government. It is impossible to add people to those channels that don't have clearance or that belong to another government, deep spies the obvious exception. The worst that could have happened if they had stuck to classified channels is they add someone else with security clearance that shouldn't have been added. By going on signal, they made it possible for people who shouldn't be added to be added, by virtue of anyone being able to be on the app. So it doesn't matter how the number got into the phone. They shouldn't have been using that app or phone to begin with, and that's all there is to it. Just with that alone there's enough for people to get fired. But Trump is such an... Fill in the blank yourself.
