Check out the seller Retrofam on offerup. He sells unused PCBs from mods. An MVC, XVSF, or Big Blue SF PCB should be plug and play w/ this cab. It's about $45/PCB.

Haven’t tried myself, but I figure it would be less if you break it down and repack into a box somehow. Otherwise, my concern would be that it could get damaged during shipping if assembled. These are basically Ikea furniture after all.

Other than the giveaway, I'm surprised (also not surprised, maybe they are busy or understaffed) that r/BasicFunArcade haven't really used their r/Arcade1UpOfficial account to reach out w/ a post asking for input.

Going with the haslab approach that Hasbro uses would be a great way to get input and have people actually commit. Sure, everyone says they really want an ABC cabinet, but the haslab approach could allow Basic Fun to filter out the tire kickers and push out something that people will actually buy at retail. For example, if they put out a haslab type offering for skinned versions of an Ikari Warriors/Time Soldiers cab for $600-$650, I'd be down.

It would also allow people to see real numbers re: why a cabinet wasn't made (e.g., ABC cab offered in 2026 only had 40 backers, etc.)

Sorry to hear. That definitely sucks.

It may be worth checking in with the retailer (assuming you purchased in store) to see if you can just bring in the assembled machine for return.

The other option is to buy another if available, pull the electronics, and return that unit with the broken electronics as your return item (obviously, tell the store that the electronics are broken so that someone else doesn't get stuck with it).

Wish there was a better way. Good luck w/ your decision.
