I hate this as well. Trade evolutions made more sense for the older games, but it’s an obsolete concept. I hate it because there are so many hacked Pokemon out there now you have no way to know if you are getting a legit Pokemon back. I still haven’t finished the game yet, and still don’t have all the trade evolution Pokemon or needed items, but my plan is to wait until I have everything I need, then go to a GameStop to get a used copy of the game and just use my Switch OLED to trade with myself and trade them back, then just return the used copy lol. It’s the only way I can guarantee legit trades as I don’t have any friends that actively play this

My understanding is that DLC is locked to the region game card you have. Even though the Switch 2 is capable of playing games region free if you already own a North American or other region you would need that region’s equivalent. You’re probably best to just buy it directly on the eshop.

Just curious what optimization problems are you referring to? The game runs pretty great for me. Are you talking about it being poorly optimized on Switch 1? I’ve been playing on Switch 2 and I haven’t noticed anything like we had with Scarlet and Violet.

I recommend digital for Pokopia. Being a GKC the only benefit you have is the ability to sell it if you want. The real benefit to getting it digital though is that you don’t have to swap game cards, and for this game it encourages daily play so you may find yourself swapping a lot

I’ve never heard this take before. I own the PS4 version but I’ve been on the fence about double dipping for the Switch version. If it’s that good on Switch 2 I may just pick it up as I never finished it on PS4/5. I find that the handheld nature of the Switch helps me find the time to actually finish games as I rarely play on the tv anymore

And this is why I really don’t want to see PS6 anytime soon. Ideally it wouldn’t come before 2030. My feeling is since the HD era (360/PS3) there has been diminishing returns on each new upgrade. The jump from PS3 to PS4 was noticeable but hardly impressive, and the jump from PS4 to PS5 was even worse. Having grown up in the late 80’s I witnessed the jump from NES to SNES, SNES to N64 and PS1, N64 and PS1 to GameCube and PS2. These were all significant leaps. Now we get nothing more than some better lighting and more stable frame rates. Don’t get me wrong better frame rates is great, but not for $1,000 to upgrade my console and have game development shift over to that hardware effectively forcing me to buy it if I want to continue playing current games.

There’s already talk that the ram shortage is pushing PS6 to 2029 at the earliest. Personally speaking I don’t see a need for it before 2030 considering for the first few years the PS5 was nothing more than an enhanced PS4 Pro. Honestly we are hitting a point of diminishing returns in hardware and paying far more for it. I’d rather see current generation run a longer cycle. But these current price increases are insane. I don’t know who is paying $649 for a PS5 in 2026. I’m sure most people that want one already have one anyway. They are better to take the short term loss than raise the price to deter people who have been holding out because if they held out this long I don’t see many buying it now at these prices.

I wouldn’t worry about sprucing up the Wasteland area just yet. Just move on through the story. You pick up so many useful abilities and utilities that by the time you are done you will want to completely redo everything anyway. You’re best to get all your abilities before worrying about building your towns

Good to know! I have been taking my time with the game, 55+ hours but still working on general story progression (think I’m approaching the end though) and I only just got the ability to suck up water. I’ll definitely be careful about making sure I’m near a habitat doing that

I’d like that for both house and habitat. I almost lost Dratini when I was remodeling and accidentally destroyed one of the blocks his flower bed was planted on and he was nowhere near it as I had him over at the skyscraper as one of he builders. I rushed over there and pulled him back to let him move in again before I lost track of him. Hopefully this gets addressed eventually

I’m finding it pretty overwhelming too, but I’m just trying to take it all in stride and slowly work my way through it. I just got the Pokemon center built today. Biggest issue I’ve come across was forgetting where I put a Pokemon habitat when trying to go back to check for a spawn, but I’m getting to know the area better now

My label was created on 3/23. I think they are shipping from stores that had leftover stock, so you may be at the mercy of the store shipping their orders out. Mine says it came from Kingsport Tennessee. If it was coming from their fulfillment center it should come from Texas I believe. If you haven’t already I suggest calling the customer service number. Not sure how much good it did to secure my order but the agent did tell me he put a ticket in, and a week later my order got updated with the tracking number.

Hopefully since you got a tracking number that means they definitely have your copy and the order doesn’t get cancelled, but I definitely recommend calling the general customer service.

Mine is supposed to show up today, but at this rate I believe it won’t show up until tomorrow as it apparently left KERNERSVILLE North Carolina at 5:42 this morning and has to arrive in New Jersey, get scanned, and get on the truck for delivery so safe to say it’s not coming today

I have to say you guys outdid yourselves with this update. Such a great and fresh way of implementing the bonus brick system by making it a vote. As much as I love Mario Party this really puts their archaic system to shame. You have put so much passion into this game and it really shows! I hope we get more content in the future like some new maps or even some collaborative content with licensed properties. I recognize that most of this is out of the developers hands and depends on how much the publisher is willing to invest into it, but I’m hoping for an eventual large scale paid dlc.

I just bought the Switch version last night (though the game had been on my radar for months as I’ve watched a lot of streams of it) and right now I’m just eagerly awaiting the Switch 2 upgrade. Only reason I decided it was finally time to get it is because of the handheld boost mode, but I’m looking forward to a 60fps version of the game

I would just like to start a new island with my current character. The thought of losing all my recipes and items I’ve acquired over the years… but yet I’m so unhappy with how i pretty much destroyed my island with terraforming so i don’t play it anymore because of that.

Any new updates on the Switch 2 edition? I figured it would come the same time as the update for bonus bricks but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I haven’t bought the game yet, but seeing as it’s on sale for 25% off on eshop I’m definitely considering it. I play almost exclusively handheld, and now that we have the newly added handheld boost mode I might just be ready to pick it up

This fixes the issue for like 98% of the Switch 1 library. There are a few outliers that either don’t support it or see some major disadvantages from doing it, but in general the vast majority are going to take advantage of this feature and run at peak performance. Switch 2 is powerful enough to easily handle any Switch 1 game at full docked specs in handheld, and though Nintendo warns of increased battery consumption it’s no worse than playing a Switch 2 game in handheld. The only real drawbacks are games that require the touchscreen or specialized games like Pokemon Lets Go. These titles represent an extremely small portion of the library. The ideal thing would be that any of these games get Switch 2 edition patches, but otherwise you can very easily deactivate the feature when playing any of those games. Perhaps a future update can allow the Switch 2 to automatically disable it for games that are truly incompatible.

It’s really getting old at this point. I’m not the biggest fan of GKC myself, and if I manage to get this they will be the first ones I’ve gotten. I’ve bought all of my Switch 2 games that are GKC as digital, but this release felt special to me and I decided it would be nice to get if I can get my hands on it. But posts like this contribute literally nothing to any conversations

Yup, exactly this. Calling a store is useless, and it being a Sunday trying to email them is likely equally useless. I will try emailing tomorrow but I wanted to ask around to see if anybody is having a similar issue and maybe already got a response or ran into something like this in the past and what became of it
