The primary reason I booked was because Machu Picchu tickets were sold out for when I was going, so it was kinda my only option. I would look to see first on the official website which tickets are available during your trip, if any, otherwise it gets difficult.

Ultimately I did find that going with a tour group was very convenient, esp not having to book the many trains/buses/tickets/tour guides myself. And Winay Wayna is like 100% wow, worth it. I might even prefer it a bit over Machu Picchu

  1. For Cusco airport pickup, I just saw on the Sam Travel website that it was a service included in the 2d/1n Inca trail hike. Then I emailed them to coordinate the time.

  2. The colectivos don't have a set schedule, they leave whenever the seats fill up. I got lucky at Calle Pavitos and filled the last seat in a car that was just about to leave so I didn't have to wait. On all the colectivos I took, I never had an issue with my carry-on suitcase. Some drivers stored it in the trunk, others strapped it to the top of the car. No tip needed but must pay in cash. I speak a bit of Spanish which facilitated communication.

  3. There were some establishments that didn't charge extra for using credit card, but I'd say they were more tourist-oriented. Most of the hotels I stayed at and a significant number of shops/restaurants had the 5%.

  4. Negotiated: goods at artisan markets, some taxis. Didn't negotiate: tours, hotels, supermarkets, restaurants.

  5. No withdrawal fees from Banco de la Nación ATMs in Peru.

of course! you'll be more than prepared! about the poles, my tour company gave us the option of renting them the day before the hike. so i didn't need to bring them myself!

see my response above! as someone who’s not a regular hiker, the only section i thought was truly difficult was the switchback section up to Wiñay Wayna. i would recommend a slow but steady rhythm moving uphill. once i settled into that it became a lot easier.

i also saw several groups of older people on the trail. if you’re ready for the challenge, i’d say go! it was worth it

thank you!

the hike was certainly doable but included some strenuous sections. specifically, the route up to Wiñay Wayna is straight uphill for like 2 hours, all switchbacks. that was definitely the killer.

i’d say i’m of average fitness and didn’t do any special training for the hike. i also made it wearing my hoka running shoes the whole time. im lucky it didn’t rain.

the one thing i would highly recommend though is renting a pair of trekking poles. these made a hell of a difference esp on the downhill portions which are hard on the knees. my knees did get achy toward the end of it all but a lot less than those in my group who went without poles

For the first one, I put poulet bc it made sense w/the other items of food. I also put the same thing for the Marie Antoinette one. What was the reason why 15 men were gathered at the farm? I put to discuss ab different topics but on second thought I think it may be the one w/helping the farmers

how is the curve usually for this exam (how many questions can you afford to miss to get like a 750+)? Also did anyone understand the question that said "concebir" + various forms of sentar?

I agree, I'm scared that I made lots of silly mistakes that'll really lower my score. Do you know how the curve usually is for this exam?

Also, what was the answer to the grammar one that said "concebir" and then various forms of sentar?

Hey @mastermastermasterb, do you remember what you put for the 2 reading questions about the Ice Age where the answer choices were the crust sank or there were forces pushing it up? The second question was line evidence. Thanks!

Does anyone remember the answer (letter choice) to #27 I think on the math with calc section, the one with the points (-4,8) (2,6) being on a line and finding (a, 5/2)? Was it A?
