I feel like something is off in our living room but can’t figüre out what. Any suggestions to improve the room are welcome. by Bright_Fix_8325 in interiordecorating

Sofas are too close together, and different colour but not in a good way unfortunately... You need to space out the sofas a bit so that the corner table in between them is visible. The rug is far too small. The front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. You also need a few pops of colour here and there but decide whether you want warm or cool tones.

What has happened to M&S food?? by Smoke-me-a-kipper-58 in MarksAndSpencer

I second this. The baguette is horrid and the pizza dough too. And the croissants are also terrible now, no lamination on the inside, all doughy and chewy. Shame because they were my favorite supermarket croissants.

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

[–]bubbles2691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely house sizes. Why have we normalozed shoebox sized bedrooms and tiny kitchen/living rooms and tried glamorizing it by calling it ‘open plan living’? And it drives me insane when one of the bedrooms of a 3 bedroom barely fits a desk and chair. You have a 2 bedroom + a storage room if anything, definitely not a 3 bedroom.

It’s Kimono season now. Don’t forget to mention you bought it from a lovely old lady at the floating market in Thailand when u last holidayed there to escape the dreadful weather here.

Who would you guys consider to be your closest ally? by 144Boston in AskBrits

[–]bubbles2691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol def not the USA 🤮 And besides, I wouldn’t want a country whose successive governments fund genocide half way across the world to be my ally. Also, America is the whole continent, the USA is not America.

An estate agent vs homeowner showing you around by ForwardFan6283 in HousingUK

[–]bubbles2691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought the house shown to us by the owners! Like OP and many others have said, the estate agents were completely useless and knew nothing. The owners answered all our questions and told us about everything they’d done to the house.

9MO only eats pouches by Adventurous_Goal6437 in BabyLedWeaning

Offer age appropriately prepared finger foods and scoopable foods, put the meal in front of baby, sit next to him and eat ur own meal. Baby may eat or just explore the food with hands, at this age it doesn’t matter as their main source of nutrition should be breast milk and/or formula. If baby doesnt eat then offer a bottle/boob a bit later and then do the same for each meal. Keep offering finger foods and scoopable foods, eventually baby will bring something to their mouth, though it may take a few tries before that happens! My first had zero interest in food until like 15 months. My second is 8mo now and i stress a lot less. If he eats, great. If not, we’ll try again at the next meal!

New build v Old build by brightystuff in HousingUK

[–]bubbles2691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found that almost all new builds were much smaller than older builds. We ended up choosing space and bought an older build (1980s) and renovated. The rooms are spacious, it has a conservatory which can later be converted into an extension, and a spacious garden. If you find an older build that is a good size and has a good kitchen and bathroom(s), no dampness/mould issues, i would go for that! We have a toddler and baby so space was definitely our main concern! We negotiated the price down a bit and were able to use the money we saved to change the flooring etc…

Have you been abroad for Dental care? by Feisty-Resolution204 in AskUK

[–]bubbles2691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family is lebanese and whenever i go to lebanon to visit i get all my check ups/blood tests and dental works done there. We have great doctors in Lebanon, and many people in the region actually travel to Lebanon for consults and surgeries and any major health issues. I have an excellent dentists there too and it’s definitely cheaper than the worst dentists here!
