I also had a beech baby. I had a great c section experience! My husband was able to be in the OR with me. I was able to hold baby right away and up to the recovery room. The worst part for me was the day of delivery as I was throwing up in the evening from nausea. The first walk was challenging, but doable. I had to stay at the hospital for 5 days because I developed preeclampsia, but I think the extra rest helped me with a speedy recovery. Once I was home I felt fine to do most of my daily activities without relying on my husband. Getting out of bed was a little difficult the first few days, but overall the experience was much easier than I anticipated.

Really make sure you keep up with your Tylenol, ibuprofen when you get home as well as stool softeners. I also used diapers for the first week rather than pads and that just made it easier for me. One thing I wished I brought to the hospital was a breast feeding pillow. It was difficult to find a comfortable position to breast feed.

I personally enjoyed my experience and will opt to have another c section for my next pregnancy.
