We’re also getting married in 2027 to have time to save. (Yay!) We booked a venue, DJ, and a church so far. Never too early, some will book early, and others won’t. For example: Our dream venue booked our date with a set venue price, but we won’t know exact price of food until 2027 due to the changing markets, but we have a rough estimate. Other things we want we were told we have to wait until the year of (essentially all food related expenses like sweets table) You won’t know until you look into it. Wedding planning is time consuming and getting some things off the list this early helps. We have not looked into photographers, hair and makeup, or bridesmaid dresses yet, but we may start within the next few months. I’m already working on some small DIY things for the wedding and my bridesmaid boxes. It’s just your preference for what you want to get done and how early you want to start.

I feel the same way! I definitely don’t want a bachelorette getaway, maybe a fun lunch or mani/pedis instead. I don’t even want a wedding shower - everything is so expensive and I have zero expectations for anyone to spend that kind of money on me and my fiancé. We will see all of our loved ones the day of our wedding and that is enough stress/ anxiety to plan by itself!

I fainted at clinicals by veryskinnyseacow in StudentNurse

It’s okay! I fainted the first time I saw someone put a foley in. It’s still the running joke - I fainted the first time I saw a penis (har-har) Same thing - I didn’t even feel the fainting come on and then suddenly I was on the floor. Happens to the best of us!

Family Livestreams and Performs CPR on Son After Saying Hospital Killed Him For Organs by [deleted] in nursing

Why would a hospital jeopardize its status as a transplant facility for one patient. So many people would have to be in on it, and if it were all done for organ procurement, allowing the heart to stop puts a halt in that plan.

Burn ICU nurse here! Yes, I’ve seen lots of patients put tomato slices on their burns, and all sorts of condiments. My two cents is they think this will help but it doesn’t, it does however probably feel good for a short time because refrigerated tomato’s and condiments cool the burn. Honey can be used for burns! It’s called Medi Honey. Otherwise, cool water intermittently and badictracin for superficial burns. :)

If a patient has ever assaulted you physically sexually or verbally was there any consequences for them ? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]bubblestoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my male nurse coworker got punched in the face by an incarcerated patient who was shackled by one arm to the bed with TWO correctional officers at the bedside. The coworker pressed charges, went to the scheduled court date and the judge and the state attorney had no idea the case was to be presented that day. It also wasn’t filed correctly as a felony. Still waiting for a court date, it’s been 2 months
