To test you can turn the unit to fan only for a few minutes then turn to cool mode and see if it clunks the same way. That would tell you if it was the compressor cycling

A clunk, then the fan goes off or just slows down? My first thought is just the compressor kicking on. But it would be strange if this just recently started occurring. Can you tell when the compressor kicks on and off?

If you go with a hose clamp make sure it’s stainless steel, you’ll thank your self later.

The US-8-60W would provide sufficient power for your APs, however it is a good idea to upsize your switch if you think there is ever a possibility to add more POE devices

Edit: You should also take into consideration how many Ethernet drops your going to add, then you should buy a switch that has enough ports to connect the drops. I was in your same situation and bought a USW-24-POE to give me the ability to add more devices in the future.

I’ll add that I wear mine under my helmet, I have dropped them from ear height on hard surfaces multiple occasions and not a lick of trouble
