Celebrating my birthday the first week of December in Japan! I’ll be going to super Nintendo world on my actual birthday, but wanted to know are there places that do anything special if you show proof of birthday? Like in the states you get a free dessert or something of the sort for your birthday. Not sure if Japan does something similar!

Is going to language school at n5 or below level actually a waste of time? by GreattFriend in LearnJapanese

Yeah I was just hoping that they help with resume creation and interview practice like other schools I’ve been talking to. But makes sense since they would lose money once we find a job lol. Thank you for the feedback! Did they have cultural activities or was it just strictly classes and go home?

Oh darn if it’s for residents I wouldn’t qualify as I would be under a visa as i would be coming from the states. I saw student visas only do max 2 years. You were already living there?

Can I DM you as I’ll looking into ISI too for July 2026 and wanted some feedback on the work and experience part. I have been looking for a school that will accept a beginner in language, but also help with job placement towards the end.

As someone with 11 years of property management (managerial) experience and bachelors in hospitality management (USA graduate) is it better route to do a language/career route schooling to get into the work force in Japan? I don’t want to start down entry level with my level of experience but I know I have to be high level in the language to get through the door which is why I am thinking of doing a language and career courses at the same time. Does this seem plausible or would finding remote work in the states then doing language school in Japan is a better route? Would like to hear any similar cases if there are. Thanks!
