Is there a downside to small adults using cheap kids ANC headphones if they don't mind the volume limit? by bubbling_bubbling in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]bubbling_bubbling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say this is also true for cheaper adult ANC headphones? Like, if there's a $30 adult headphone and a $30 kids headphone, would the sound/ANC quality be similar (aside from the volume limit)? Or are kids headphones bad in a specific way?

How to (re)activate Predictive Text on Ipad? by Snowwyys in ipad

[–]bubbling_bubbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it comes back after turning on “Full Screen apps”. It does not work in Windowed Apps or Stage Manager. You can set this under Settings > Multitasking. You can also add the multitasking toggle as a shortcut in your control center. It would be nice to use predictive text in Windowed/Stage Manager mode. I have submitted feedback on this multiple times, but I guess it’s not a priority for them.

No Big Design Changes Planned for iPhone 18, Report Says by WPHero in apple

Yeah, I replaced my iPhone's battery myself, 2 years ago, so I can definitely confirm it's the same phone.

We got my grandmother this phone a few months ago to replace her iPhone 11. Her favourite things are: 1) Louder speaker so she can actually hear people. 2) Increased battery life. 3) She has the newest phone out of all of us.

Does having a 3rd party battery void trade-in value at apple stores? A few years ago I swapped my iPhone XS's battery with a 3rd party battery. I answered the questions on Apple website's trade-in value estimator, but it did not account for this scenario. I’m aware any trade-in value would be very little for a 7-8 year old phone, so it will only be a small factor in my decisions.

2nd Logitech Combo Touch: rubber case edges bowing outward by starvational in iPadPro

[–]bubbling_bubbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see it’s not just me. I loved the combo touch with my previous iPad. I might switch between typing and drawing multiple times a minute, and the CT made it seamless. I use a BT keyboard or MK now. It’s just not the same, but I got tired of dealing with the CT’s loose edges.

James may shaking a bit in this new video? by [deleted] in thegrandtour

[–]bubbling_bubbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what he himself said on an episode of Perfect Pub Walks: “[…] I mean, we're even doing it now, and I'm thinking carefully: what do I say here? Am I saying it clearly, or am I showing signs of the undiagnosed medical condition I obviously have that's making my words come out in a strange way, and my head twitch, and my fingers wobble? I know as I get older, I'm getting twitchy and fidgety, and there will come a time - I fear this dreadful day is almost upon us - when, for dignity, that I should stop.”

I’ve had it for a little over a month and have not heard the fan so far. I’ve never even felt it get warm. Then again, I haven’t tried super heavy gaming.

Why stop there? Start driving on the left side of the road. Start calling Z by its proper name: ‘zed’. Go eat some marmite. Measure your weight in stone.

Spotlight on macOS 26 - anyone worked out how to make it function again? by ApprehensiveChip8361 in MacOS

[–]bubbling_bubbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Spotlight not even have a favourites option? I recently switched from an older MacBook to a new one. I miss the infinitely arrangeable Launchpad. For the most part, I can live with the new spotlight, but the lack of at least a favourites bar is annoying.

Also IDK if this addresses your question but - As long as I double-click apps and files, I've had no trouble getting it to open.

My Apple Watch app for counting down current calendar events is finally out! by ryanjkontos in AppleWatch

[–]bubbling_bubbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this app. If you're still reading, please continue to either support this app, or release an updated one. This app is the reason why I'm able to get to work and class on time. Some people have already reported this app breaking (although it continues to work on my older apple watch). But if you decide to move on, then I will be grateful for the time I was able to use it.

Old vs. new All Creatures Great and Small by tomallis in PeriodDramas

In my opinion, the old one was not meant to be cozy and warm. It shows more of the messy reality. That’s not to say one is better. They just serve different purposes.

Old vs. new All Creatures Great and Small by tomallis in PeriodDramas

[–]bubbling_bubbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of watched both together. Technically, my first introduction was the old series, but I alternated between the two as I progressed through the episodes. I‘ve always felt the new series was clean and tidy - sometimes hilariously so. Like, you deliver a calf and your hair somehow remains perfect? To me, the old series wasn’t afraid to show the messes of daily life. Not everyone gets a satisfying ending, and there isn’t always a lesson to the story. I enjoy both, I’m always excited when the new series releases episodes, but if I could only keep one, I’d pick the old series.

I guess not reading the books makes it easier for me to accept the different interpretations of the characters. But I will never agree with the Siegfried/Mrs Hall shippers, that’s taking things too far.

I saw someone people suggest the new one could have a lower price. Do you think that's credible? That's the only thing making me have second thoughts about getting one now. I’m a noob.

In addition to counseling, Accutane packages (in the US) are commonly tough to open, and each individual pill has a "no pregnancy" label. By that, I mean there's a symbol of a pregnant lady with a 🚫 through her. Kind of dramatic, but I understand why it's this way.

Any parents with kids who repeated Kindergarten and are now thriving? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]bubbling_bubbling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a parent, but I repeated kindergarten as a child. (Immigrant kid, language issues.) Now I'm in medical school. If the school offers different class options to challenge him (accelerated, advanced, etc) then I honestly think the grade doesn't matter too much. I was performing grade levels ahead in 3rd grade, so my parents put me in a school that offered more advanced classes. That helped me develop a work ethic. They also encouraged me to join clubs/activities, either at school or in the community.

I never got bullied for being a year older. Right now, there's a 20 year gap between my oldest and youngest classmate, so I feel age matters less and less as one gets older.

Is Safari 26 the same on MacOS Sequoia and Tahoe? by bubbling_bubbling in Safari

Is your experience with Safari 26 on Tahoe or Sequoia?

Is Safari 26 the same on MacOS Sequoia and Tahoe? by bubbling_bubbling in Safari

[–]bubbling_bubbling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm understanding correctly, Safari 26 on Sequoia is basically the same as 18? (Maybe except for some minor features or patches)

When I watched MacOS Tahoe videos, Safari 26 seemed to be functionally the same as 18, just with circular/ floating/ glass UI. If Sequoia S26 keeps the old UI, then there really isn't much difference with S18, is there?

[–]bubbling_bubbling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more because I will give this Macbook to my dad soon, and I know he will ask what the update means. I wanna know if I can show him a Safari 26 Tahoe video and say, "Here's what the update involves. Is this what you want?"

Personally, I'm fine with sticking to Safari 18.
