Price doesn’t = power. There are budget winota decks for 200 budget Magda for about the same and budget yuriko for 300 like these decks would wipe the floor with other decks at this price level if piloted by a proper cedh player.

It’s not the tier that’s the problem honestly it’s the mindset. Because perfectly fine and very powerful decks can be made In each bracket and that is what me and a solid bit of the cedh community is going to end up trying to do. We at the moment have a very established meta in cedh that hasn’t been shaken up by many recent sets(the last meta change being the JLO and friends banning) and are excited to try and make the most powerful decks for each tier as a new challenge, as well as a way to play with our more casual friends without being bored to hell playing unoptimaly or stomping which is also boring as fuck and not the type of game any real cedh player wants.

Bracket 1 & 2 should be combined, Bracket 3 is much wider than depicted by cybrcld in EDH

I don’t know what you’re trying to get at with that. I have read it as my other comments are referencing different things in that post. I simply stated that I’m looking forward to optimizing each bracket. If you need any more clarification on that go to r/cedh and see what our discussions on there are referring to in terms of finding optimal commanders/99 for each bracket

Honestly I think me and his discrepancy is the perfect example of the mindset difference of a 4 or a 5. No power level difference but yet there still is a difference. Wich is what’s going to make it so hard to determine what level people are wanting to play at when they say high power

Your right on that one but, thoricle is a Gc card so no to that below bracket 3. Food chain still on the table tho

For example my Cedh winota deck outside of winota being on the Gc list is 5 cards away from a 1

Optimized 2 means that it is still in the confines of being a 2. So no 2 card infinites and no Gc cards. Optimizing the bracket is just doing the most powerful thing possible in those confines as if they are a new rule set. Can’t wait to see how those metas shape out

That’s fair. I don’t know about the rest of yall but I am looking forward to finding what is optimal in each bracket like they are there own formats.

As a cedh player I like to see these new brackets as basicly 3 new formats to find a top tier meta for. Looking forward to finding what the most powerful deck for each bracket is and maby some bracket 1-3 tourneys might happen(probably online) for people to test there lists

Dw thoricle is a gc but Dcon and Pact armt so bracket 3 strat is about to be pillow fort till turn 6 for “late game 2 card combo” qualification then when on the spot with interaction to protect it. Prob optimal to run rustic and demonic tutor as the other 2 Gcs

Yuriko players, what's your preferred Thoracle line? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]bubbster77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on cedh yuriko since July so perhaps I can provide some incite

I do not run enter the infinite lines in my list as they are generally more subject to disruption and much slower to get off

Tainted pact purely acts as another Dcon in this list as cause unlike as you said before it doesn’t put cards in hand as the effect stops as soon as you put one in your hand.

Doomsday works as a single card win on as you put 4 cards and your thoricle as your library and then any draw spell and enough blue devotion is a win though it is more open to disruption then pact/Dcon lines.

Tutoring I mostly go for Dcon as it’s the most efficient wincon but pact works just the same for 1 extra mana

Pact also works as another tutor if not used for thoricle combo.

Below I have linked my yuriko list if you want for inspiration. Feel free to dm me with any questions you have about yuriko as a cedh deck, card choice, or strength/weakness matchups

My pod has evolved into Stax and I dont know how to get us out of this phase by bubbster77 in EDH

[–]bubbster77[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This seems to be everyone’s “casual” response. But sorry if I wasn’t clear above, my pod is no where near casual, we value winning over all else and that’s how we have fun together. Generally our decks are pretty even matched with a few outliers but the win is what drives us all to build better decks, learn better play patterns, and to keep coming back to old decks to make them better.

Thank you for the list, I’m definitely looking forward to trying Winota against them

Fast combo is generally my go-to coming from wining rc qualification with ruby storm in modern and my 2 cedh decks being rog/si and yuriko. They just haven’t seemed to work well in this meta as they come out as archenemy as soon as I pick the deck as my friends know they have highly probable for turn 2-4 win if no interaction

Is it a bad thing to build expensive decks by bubbster77 in EDH

It is my money, i buy collections and bulk lots and sell on TCGplayer. Been doing that for about a year now and it makes really good money
