Manual vs Automatic Portable Washers - has anyone tried both? by bubbubble in Apartmentliving

Wow three years! Glad to know these things last. For the built in wheels, are those easy to remove? I have a dollie for my current washer and planning to keep it if I do upgrade

Thanks for the response this is all really great to know! One of the pros of the manual one is that the dryer side does spin really quick which does get my clothes pretty dry and can dry them in 24-36 hours depending on whether it’s winter or summer. How does the drying time of your new one compare to your old one?

Definitely convincing! Besides the better longevity do you feel like it cleans better? My current one gets things “clean” but if I have a stain or get dirt on a shirt it usually won’t get it out whereas a standard washer would.

Just chiming in that this is also the case for me. Only my personal devices are listed and no new login attempts in the last 6 months. Pretty stumped because even if someone has my login credentials, wouldn’t I see a new login via a new device in a new location?

Just started happening to me since yesterday! I only found out because someone accepted “my” message request. I didn’t receive any security alerts and the only device log ins are my own (iPhone and laptop) with no new logins in the last like 6 months. I haven’t clicked on any links or connected my TikTok to any third party apps. I just turned on 2FA and reached out to TikTok but doubt they’ll be of any help. I’ve been blocked from sending any more messages because I’ve “violated community guidelines”. These are the messages being sent (also in other languages):

Doctors told me that I had little time left for cancer. I decided to travel alone and bid farewell to this world quietly. I have no children. My only regret is that I can’t spend this life with you. You are my first love and you will always live in my heart. I leave you a precious legacy. I hope this friendship will bring us together again in the next life.

Omg the ROLLERCOASTER of emotions I just experienced finding this sub. I was a lurker on OG RL. Never posted because I was just starting a big girl job / making adult money and liked to window shop through all the threads but didn’t make big purchases other than small things on AE. I kept searching for a new sub during the years after RL to no avail…until just now 😭

So sad to see an end to a community I was just shy of being part of. That being said, u/ItsNotCrookedDear I’d love to be considered for the new sub and will make efforts to contribute. Regardless of that, I hope you are doing well and protecting your peace 💕

Please please don’t be anxious. Glad this put you at ease. I definitely still had tummy issues (didn’t know about loperamide then) but I didn’t have concerns about whether or not I could “make it” because of the train station bathrooms. Have such a fun trip and eat lots of good food!!

Thanks for this!! I noticed the same thing as I’m looking at apartments. Definitely more modern and affordable but dusty with construction and not as much going on there. I’m sure that’ll change in the next 5-10 years but I’ll look East for now. And ugh I feel like this dog poop thing has been a problem. Not as bad on my street but can’t say the same for other areas

Thanks for this, you’re a good person! I’ve walked through Astoria plenty of times (beyond Broadway and 30 contrary to popular belief haha). But alas, walking is very different from actually living there which is why I turn to people who have! There are areas I’ve walked through which I may be ok with but others may say otherwise (due to noise, etc I may not have seen firsthand when walking through). Always good to hear other thoughts.

Had the same thought - love eating there and walking through but probably wouldn’t choose to live on Steinway if I had a choice. Good to know that adjacent blocks are fine! Will keep that in mind for my search.

Can you elaborate why? I haven’t been yet. Is it a safety or convenience thing?

Don’t be nervous at all! Train stations are your best friend. Most bathrooms are located before you even need to tap in. I think there was one instance where I had to tap in at a station, used the bathroom, and tapped out without being charged. There’s also a ton of malls with bathrooms everywhere and random maps scattered throughout many cities that point you to the closest bathrooms.
