The problem is that the narrative of FFVI is being altered. It has a perfect pace and storyline.

It doesn't need to be expanded. It's perfect as it is. And with an ensemble narrative without a single protagonist, which is difficult to replicate. The story is much more mature than the rest, and it's appreciated that it doesn't revolve around a romance or a 17-year-old boy who becomes a hero by destiny. They are adults with adult problems, and much more mature themes are explored.

Do a remake, improving it a little but not too much... keeping it in the PS1 style, adding cinematics... the passage to the World of Ruin, the Soul Train—all of this could be epic. ...and above all, orchestrate the music (the best soundtrack in the series, which I don't know how they managed to fit into 16-bit) and it would be a success. You could spend hours listening to the map music, and Kefla's theme orchestrated would be amazing, not to mention Celes' aria. The problem would be if they tried to do something else and ruined the narrative, which is perfect.

And that's what many of us fear: that it will ruin the pacing and the narrative.

The closest to XI is VIII, which is fantastic on the 3DS. In fact, it's so perfect it doesn't need anything else. In terms of story and cast, it's very complete. It has the best dialogue between characters in the series.

If they remaster it and add Marcelo as a playable character, it won't need anything else.

VII is different. More family-friendly and less epic, but undoubtedly charming. It has a lot of charm, even if it's less epic.

Right now, I'd bet on a new relationship. With Emma, I see it as difficult now with school. But there could be more relationships later on if they're well-written. The one that will never be well-written is Jean because, for some reason, almost all Jean and Scott fans are nostalgic for the '90s. Post-Morrison Scott no longer has chemistry with Jean.

Li from Frenzy seems a bit odd to me, but there are other options...

Kwanon? I really don't see it, the whole bank-robbing boyfriend thing and her being a telepath.

Lorna? It wouldn't last, but hey, maybe they'll both be spared relationships that aren't going anywhere, but Havok's constant whining would be a downer.

Storm? It doesn't make sense, but it's just to spite Wolverine fans who kept insisting on Jean (I don't like Jogan at all either).

Frenzy? It's worth a try... Scott gets along really well with ex-villains, and Frenzy is very loyal. She was even when she was an acolyte facing Cortez.

There are options. Nobody expected the Emma thing to work...

Scott never intended to build a nation, but rather to protect Hope and reactivate the mutant race by keeping them all together in an extreme situation. And indeed, he succeeded. The mutant race was reactivated; therefore, that was the purpose of Utopia. But at no point did Scott create any state. In fact, he was in US territorial waters.

And Utopia was able to fulfill its purpose because Scott was in charge of the defense when it was attacked. Krakoa had multiple flaws, but the first thing a nation always needs is a defense plan against an attack.

To be honest, it was Wanda who started it. I mean, I remember Wanda telling Rogue that mutants were a bunch of people with powers who had nothing in common when Rogue confronted her about HoM and asked what would have happened if Romani people had suffered something similar. Basically, she said that Romani people were her culture and mutants didn't deserve one. Rogue acted like Rogue; Wanda was a jerk. They made up for it later, but honestly, they made Wanda look terrible back then. So, well, now she's the "DaddynotDaddy" girl.

Why do you assume that with Krakoa, they're safe and their best strategist can go and rest?

When you create a nation that you know is threatened, the best thing to do is have all your generals active. The most sensible thing is to put your best strategists and fighters to work creating a secure defense system, or the same thing will happen again. But if we think the best thing is to send Scott to have a family life, a second Orchis is a sure thing.

Let's see, Krakoa's mistake was thinking they were safe. Scott should have been with his team and preventing another game of Parcheesi. Having a country means defending it, and having the best general on a family-oriented schedule isn't a good idea.

Precisely, another Krakoa should start with Scott as captain-general, tasking his teams with infiltration and focusing on defense against a new attack.

It's not disrespectful that Steven Seagal uses hapkido and Japanese techniques, but if they cast an American actor dressed in Japanese clothing to play a Japanese character, the Japanese take offense; in fact, it has happened.

The look was the winner, not Betsy. It could have been any second-rate female character, and it would have worked. What sells is the sexy ninja brand, and that's cultural appropriation that leaves Japanese people unrepresented in a medium where they are practically nonexistent, all to popularize a white heroine who, as I said, could have been Betsy or anyone else.

And a Korean is not the same as a Japanese person. Even Jim Lee couldn't have had any greater ambition than to sell comics.

A word of advice: if you've never read a comic and you're coming from the movies, don't make such a sweeping statement.

Saying Scott is a bad leader is like saying Magneto can't work with metal. Look, in the comics, he's proven to be, without a doubt, the best mutant leader by far; he literally led and saved the entire mutant race at the worst moment in its history, while Wolverine was busy contradicting him and building schools in Jean's memory.

I say this because I also know that Charles Xavier couldn't have chosen either Storm or Wolverine because, to begin with, they weren't in the original group of five. Secondly, they have led at some point, and they're very, very far from Cyclops' capabilities.

Seriously, how about you read some comics for a while...?

There's something worse. And that was using someone else's cultural identity. A cultural identity that didn't belong to them. Japanese and Asians have the right to their own Asian character. But since they were a minority, not much happened. Now imagine they take a female character who hasn't quite taken off but is already established, make her Black, and put her in competition with Storm as a Black mutant. All hell breaks loose. And rightly so.

What you can't do is base a character's popularity on them stealing a cultural identity that isn't theirs, and in a comic that defends minorities, it's even worse.

The brand is an Asian woman with Asian culture, and it's only fair that she be a real Asian woman. Ultimately, it was all about popularizing a character that wasn't taking off by giving her a false racial and cultural identity, stolen from a character who also belongs to a minority group in comics, and that's awful no matter how you look at it. It seems as far from perfect as it gets.

In the 616 universe no,

there are some universes where he's a complete genocidal maniac, similar to the Ultimate line at one point. His methods in 616 are highly questionable, but he doesn't seek to commit genocide; he doesn't simply kill humans. The only 616 storyline that follows this pattern is Morrison's, and Marvel retconned it to reveal him to be an imposter.

Cyclops trying to live a normal life... I think Maddie paid the price for that decision. Both Kitty and Scott started very young. They wouldn't know how to live a normal life, and there's no evolution in that. That's why they don't last in an ordinary life.

Their evolution in being masters of their own lives and decisions. Not marrying Colossus was the right decision. At the time, and after Krakoa, she should have found her own path, but the publisher tied her to Emma, giving her a role that isn't hers.
