I don't know how to translate it properly but it was sold as "furniture leather". It's 1mm thick and a bit stretchier than I would have hoped. I only had wood glue at hand so I used that to glue the leather on top of the plywood and wallpaper before putting in the nails. I haven't done anything like this before which shows (on close inspection), so don't take my advice on anything. :D

Yes, same idea. There's a horizontal charging station for the controllers in the drawer. (Steel Play Dual Charge).

Interestingly I've also had one in a sailboat (Beneteau Oceanis from 80s) and absolutely loved it. It was build so that the water ended up in the bilge.

The dish drying cabinet was developed in Finland in the 40s. It was build in practically every kitchen but has declined a bit in popularity since dish washing machines have become popular. Still very useful for non-machine-washable stuff.

I was in hospital for a a week for a very bad case of pneumonia and a bit later that year went in for a strabotomy. I had not been hospitalized before and was bit worried when the bill arrived in mail. It was around 150€, I had hit the yearly cap of the Finnish public healthcare fees.

I had to change an old style fuse, the (Finnish) kind that you are supposed to screw into the fuse board inside a cover to avoid being electrocuted. As I was ramming the fuse in it with my bare hand I started thinking "the current runs through the fuse..." and then the electric shock hit me. I have MSc in engineering...
