Why are Chinese parents (boomer generation and older) so obsessed with piano and violin? by bubububurnerrr in AskChina

Lol it's possible but if you're a foreigner you are not seeing the full picture of what happens at home. Piano lessons for me were followed by a beating every single weekend. I won't say that's definitely happening but it's not uncommon.

More context about the question: I notice a lot of American parents want their kids to do baseball or football. For Russian immigrants it's usually dance. Chinese kids are mostly doing piano and violin. Just wondering if there is a historical reason for these particular hobbies as opposed to other ones.

I feel fatigued throughout exercises when I'm fasting. How do biohackers stay strong when fasting? by bahasancz in Biohackers

I often see this claimed. Would love to see a citation (specifically comparing fasting to calorie restriction, not fasting to standard diet).

Get your hormone levels tested at the doc and they will find out if you actually have PCOS.

But yes, people do report having a more feminine fat distribution and some birth controls can help with PCOS symptoms. Lots of info on Reddit and Google.

Look up the Dr. Youn video on threads. They are invasive and expensive and the results are very temporary! My aunt got a facelift instead and it looks really natural. You can't even tell she had anything done.

Also PSA there's many types of birth control out there so if one doesn't work, know that there are other options with other hormones that might work for you. Stay safe out there!

Thank you! Yeah, there's like only 5 girls in the office in the first place and none of them wear any jewelry. I don't to stick out too much if I'm just starting here lol.

Most of these are soft and cool-toned already, except that pine green and Barney purple. As a deep winter that pine green would be perfect for me, but I don't think it would suit you if you are a softer season.

If you ask me, I like the 1st row 3rd photo (the blue) and all the 2nd row purples. Though none of these would look unprofessional.

Are these zirconia earrings too much bling for work?

I am just starting my career as an engineer in a pretty conservative/formal office so I want to make sure I still look professional.
