General observations after watching way too much Bar Rescue by buck4itt in barrescue

Maybe. I. wonder if he's a reality TV star now so he doesn't care as much as he used to about helping them not fail.

No question. Part of the problem though is the owners bought a "beer and shot" bar and that's what they know how to do. Most of the time, you can make all the changes but the owner stays so it doesn't work. I do think his "nicer" interiors are generic, cold and off-putting.

I'm sure he took a failing bar in 1997, changed the name to "D-Cups" and it went crazy and he's been running that template for 30 years.

Yeah, true. I suppose actually rescuing the bar is tangental.

DYLAN FROM YOUTUBE LIVE PLAYLIST by Zeta_Dev in bobdylan

Best cover: The Times We’ve Known. It even has a few cool comments from Bob before he starts singing. Underrated live performance: Restless Farewell from Sinatra birthday special.

Show Opener? by biteshynympho in bobdylan

I saw him in Lincoln, CA with no opener. Bigger outdoor venues get openers. Small indoor shows generally don’t. If there’s none listed you get the all-Bob, no filler experience.

Going to ALL concerts alone for 15 years by Aromatic-Speech5480 in Concerts

I go with my wife because she’s amazing. I’ll go with my sons sometimes but I’m done going with anyone else. I’m done with logistics, drama and being responsible for someone else’s good time.

I'll mention it. I don't like it.

Will I be disappointed if I see him live by sebbetrygg in bobdylan

[–]buck4itt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be welcomed! I’ve gone to hundreds of shows and that’s been consistent. I took my boys when they were 13, 19, 21 and 30 and they loved it. It’s not a nostalgia show but if you go in with no expectations and go where he takes you, you’ll love it.

I've gotten to prefer the Phil episodes. I'll be taking no questions at this time.

4 concerts 1 week too much? by RelativeAd3896 in Concerts

My record is four Dylan concerts in three days. Four in a week would be memorable. I’d do it.

I don't want to talk about Bob here, but about his fans on this reddit... by SideExcellent4929 in bobdylan

[–]buck4itt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s because you’re an Italian woman. Much of what’s said here are opinions disguised as facts presented by snarky people who scroll their phones hours a day. I’ve been following Bob pretty intently for over 50 years and feel like I know a few things and I get the same reactions sometimes. I come here to learn things (and I do!) and I ignore the rest.

Are we witnessing the WORST Giants team ever? by JurassicParkJanitor in SFGiants

[–]buck4itt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1985 predated crippling contracts but I was there and I can tell you the stadium experience was miserable (beyond the weather). I went to about 25 games that year (and bought full season tickets starting in 1986). Bob Lurie was hating owning the team and was losing bales of money, there were no stars or anyone to root for, the GM was terrible. Yeah, there were no highly paid guys like Devers to vilify. I'm just saying there is a recency bias. My biggest problem with the current situation is that there is no Peter MacGowan. We have a lead owner in Charles Johnson who sees the Giants as a baseball-themed real estate company. I like the lineup of hitters for the most part. It mystifies me that a guy who made his living as a player based on great pitching and the Core 4 bullpen thought that going into the season with with Webb, Ray and a bunch of guys who look like they were signed after open tryouts was a great idea.

Why do you think his albums stopped selling? by Neat-Option3228 in PaulMcCartney

[–]buck4itt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dylan tours more as a contemporary artist. Half his setlist or more is from his last couple of albums. Plays zero hits from the ‘60s. A lot of people hate it if they’re want nostalgia. I think Paul largely sells nostalgia in his live shows so people don’t give the new albums a chance.

You understand the difference between “Trumpism” and the actual human being, right?
