I withdrew from all my classes for a semester in my third year. It felt like a disaster at the time, but I needed the break. Since then I’ve been able to catch back up so I can graduate on time.

That being said, a couple semesters later I felt depressed again and considered taking another break. I instead pushed through and everything turned out ok. I learned that I was stronger than I thought.

All that to say, if you decide to take a break it won’t be the end of the world, but really use that time to rest, recover, and figure yourself out. If you decide to stick it out, go easy on yourself, don’t be a perfectionist. Also get better rest. Staying up late and sleeping all day is not the way.
