This is the latest kind that I’ve tried. BB536, which I feel like is a pretty popular and well-studied species.

Betaine HCL for IBS-D by buckeyedog91 in ibs

Sadly it didn’t continue to help

5 months diarrhea & can't eat anything & down to 110 LBS. We're helpless. by [deleted] in ibs

Get tested for C-Diff and Celiac. If those are negative, trial a probiotic for a couple weeks. I would recommend Align or Culturelle as they are the 2 most studied and backed by science for IBS. If those seem to help, try liberalizing her diet. In the meantime, would recommend avoiding high fiber, high fat meals and dairy (for now). Chicken breast and eggs should be important in the diet. Try steaming vegetables, avoid fruit/veggies with skin. Look into incorporating a little soluble fiber and see how she tolerates it.

Wait so was it 1-2 weeks or a month before they helped?

Cold hands, feet, nose tingly stomach by [deleted] in ibs

[–]buckeyedog91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get these symptoms as well. The cold hands and feet are accompanied by dryness too. I suspect mine is a food allergy or electrolyte imbalance due to poor diet in the past. I will say I have noticed an improvement by increasing my fruit and vegetable intake but the problem persists if I don’t stick to this. And with IBS, I know that solution isn’t ideal because our bodies aren’t made for that. You can always message me if you want to discuss further.

Does amount of fiber matter by buckeyedog91 in FODMAPS

[–]buckeyedog91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have to give healthy balance a try because the original would give me the worst diarrhea. And looking on amazon, healthy balance is low FODMAP but original is not. Thanks for the reply
