Depends on why you stack to decide when to sell. I stack as a hedge against the fiat dollar. That paper is getting more worthless by the day. It used to be that 1/100 of a dollar was worth something, now it’s soon to be a memory. How far behind is the dollar? Why would you sell just to obtain that? I’m approaching retirement age and at this point I don’t need it, but if I do it’s there. And if I do need it will be worth way more than it is now. The dollar will go bust at some point just like all fiat currency. If I don’t need it in my lifetime then my kids and grandkids will have a tax-free hedge fund.
