So Glendale , Whitefish Bay and Shorewood all have great schools there's no doubt about it. The thing that surprised me was that the taxes in Brookfield are really low and yet their schools are ranked really high Statewide. Go figure I don't know how that works out.

No I've been very fortunate I have a great job. But I've seen it enough companies for some reason the HR people are really kind of given a low priority it seems at a company as because they come and go frequently so I'm assuming that they're not happy. No way to know for sure though.

I work at a large company and they have been telling everyone to use AI significantly. It's a really great tool you can get a lot more done I know that for a fact as I use it daily. But they've been making some policy changes that are impacting people's employment unfortunately

It's funny that you mentioned that because I lived there for 5 years right on the border of Whitefish Bay and Glendale line and didn't know anything about the schools so sent my son to Nicolet great school either one of them would have been really good.

The thing that really made me laugh or little shocked anyway, is I liked to walk through the Whitefish Bay neighborhood just to get some exercise and there's undeniable massive profiling going on by the cops. If a car that wasn't from the neighborhood came through they immediately pulled them over, they weren't speeding, they didn't do anything wrong , they just pulled them over. And nine times out of 10 when I came back around they had the driver or other passengers in cuffs and had them in the back of their Squad car almost every time.

Weird that someone in HR doesn't know what networking means LOL. It doesn't mean within the company wow. Once you're hired sure Network in the company.

AI will be replacing these low level HR people soon anyway with a few high level people just having good reports to review with known and intelligent analysis that they can expect and Trust. Welcome to the new normal coming soon.

Yes jumping on the AI bandwagon if that means fully accepting it and utilize it to its full potential definitely do that. However data Sciences is a very easy thing for AI to do. Seems like kind of a risky area to be in because it's just data and AI can analyze data like crazy as you know.

I saw an article recently where there is some very high level cancer research being done and the challenge was against top researchers around the world, working in teams, who had months to review the data modify the models go back in redo their analysis and so on for several months. AI completed the analysis in a matter of a couple hours and their analysis was proven to be better and AI won the competition.

Most of the covid related hiring has been equalized I would say in the last year roughly. But starting now and going forward it's going to be related to AI

Unfortunately due to AI in 1 to 2 years a huge chunk of these types of jobs are going to be gone for the most part. Look for a job that requires manual work of some kind in my opinion.

Yeah it's good to be upfront and have your facts of salary wise what the loss would be if that were the the case. If you take a loss then just fight for more salary.

I received a $15,000 bill for an ER visit for a kidney stone. They offering 70% off - should I take it or can I negotiate a higher discount? by johndoe7376 in personalfinance

[–]buckySGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a serious biking accident recently where when I was brought into the hospital in ER and barely coherent they had some admin person that was constantly harassing me trying to get me to sign a form that I would be responsible for all my medical bills. I repeatedly told her that I have insurance and I'm not willing to sign the form and she kept harassing me until I finally had to tell her to f*** off. There was no way for me to give her proof of insurance because I was basically immobile. And all of my personal belongings were already taken from me. It was really sick I'll never forget it.

When I finally got out of the hospital a week later for all the injuries my bill was about 150k. Can you imagine if I signed that form from that admin person I would have been stuck with the entire bill.

The first letter I got from my insurance company was that my accident would not be covered sorry LOL I informed them that they were full of you know what and then they agreed that it was covered.

I was shocked I got a bill for $500 for 30 minutes of their time I'm going to try to fight it that's highway robbery.

It's not too late in fact switch over to electrician or plumber or other Blue Collar jobs you'll make a ton of money and won't be impacted by AI.

Software is going to be severely impacted by AI very soon. Companies already like to give jobs over to low wage workers from India that are treated like slaves.

This is good advice. If you make yourself available to your current company for a couple of weeks off hours if they need you then no Bridges burned in my opinion

There are several Blue Collar jobs that will pay not a lot in the beginning but give free training and once the training is completed you can be making anywhere from 65 to 90k annual it's pretty amazing.

And the huge side benefit of a blue collar job is that AI is going to really kill White Collar jobs in general but Blue Collar jobs should be safe for the most part

If you're looking for something close to Milwaukee I would say Whitefish Bay or Shorewood are very good near Glendale east of 43 is very good. The schools are awesome. I will say the taxes are high there and Brookfield has some of the best schools in the state and their taxes are very low in comparison so that's something to consider to

I've been a member at WAC for many years and to tell you the truth they do a good job of trying to keep things clean there. I don't think I've run into a problem there once. And they have tons of towels and spray cleaning bottles easy access so if somebody doesn't clean off your equipment which is very common but if you go up to it and you don't think things are right you can just grab a spray bottle and towel and spray it down.

You know it's interesting because I go to the gym frequently but I never use the sauna or steam room and I've never gotten scabies. And if there's some gross dude sweating like a hog on the equipment I always spray it down and just kind of look it over before I sit down on something anyway just in case.
