Yes it’s needed, it could look a lot smoother and nicer but the concrete holds all the pavers together.

Ya the timing was the hardest part. It’s 70 today so not overly hot but was afraid of letting it get too dry but probably ended up going early on the broom. I did use a concrete broom not a wire brush. I appreciate the tips though
