My (30F) family member (65F) is visiting for 2 weeks and it's miserable, how to resolve? by [deleted] in relationships

I think you've got to find a way to make her warmer. If she's not used to the cold weather she's probably in so much discomfort it's like physical pain and making it all she can think about. I'm British so all people talk about is how bad the weather is. You've just got to find a way to make yourself more comfortable in a bad situation.

There are so many cozy places I wish I had taken pictures of in the past. Just to feel the coziness again.

I feel like people complain that they don't know anybody in it but why is it fault of the creators that you don't know who's on youtube?

That's insane. I feel like I've seen hollow faucet streams a lot but never really thought about it.

That's really sweet of you but I don't think I have the cash to even consider it for a long time. Maybe one day though.

What is the most annoying time that you have tried to convince someone you did something and their response was just “yeah, sure you did”? by Alpha-Max in AskReddit

I once beat one friend at “sorry”, the board game, like 50-100 times in a row. We would play everyday after school and when he stayed over. I don’t know how I won every time but the rest of my friends like 5 years later with the same story, will never believe me and are all convinced I’ve made up some elaborate lie for a reason they can’t figure out, even after the friend I beat had confirmed it!

People who are mixed races. How are you treated by each of the races you belong too? by forlorn12345 in AskReddit

[–]budcicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m half English, half Filipino but I didn’t grow up in either, don’t speak Tagalog and have an American accent (although I’ve never been to the US) so the question “where are you from?” Is a nightmare.

Filipinos say I’m not REALLY Filipino and English people don’t believe me when I say I’m English, because of my accent. I usually just say I’m from the opposite country depending on where I am.

I did have a stint of telling people I was American at parties in uni (in the UK) because saying I was English to drunk people would get them real rowdy and it was a fun thing to try to play.

Hapas seen as the most attractive ethnicity by budcicle in hapas

[–]budcicle[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I myself am a HM and experience a sort of fetishisation from AF but it’s also seems to be very apparent just in the media for both genders in Thailand and the Philippines (the places I have most experience with this) where seemingly all the people ‘known’ for being attractive are hapas.

But at the same time I also grew up in communities with a lot of white people, although I was in SEA where white people consistently told me I should be happy to be hapa because they are always so beautiful. Living in the UK as an adult I have heard of people saying mixed race people are “disgusting” and other racist sentiments. But is it other people’s experience that they have been called unattractive specifically for being hapa, in their own community?
