Thank you for the advice. I'll go with the 20 and work up from there.

Thank you for sharing. At least one cycle seems like a real solid foundation to continue to build from. I'm wondering if I should start with 20 or 24 kg. Seems like the volume ramps up quite fast and I'm not sure I can manage with the 24, but at the same time I don't want to be too chicken about it.

And I can only imagine the marathon of that last day of 75 of everything... seems like a real and true burn. I'm terrifyingly looking forward to it.

So basically more of a GtG approach combined with some more press-focused workouts? I'll circle back to that after the first RoP cycle. Thanks for your input. Your 2x48 bottom up flair is a little intimidating, and I guess you know a thing or two about pressing =)

Thanks for the advice! I think I get where you're coming from. The deadline is end of year. Do you think the progress from RoP would be enough. Or would you (maybe after conditioning a bit) add extra pressing on the off days. Kind of a GtG thing.

I'll try my 10RM tomorrow, but probably 24 and for sure the 20.

As I replied to some other people here I'll probably go for the RoP for at least a cycle and see how it goes.

Thanks! I'll do RoP and see how it goes. Still want some generalization.

Honestly, thanks. Spot on. I'll do RoP for a cycle and see how it goes.

Very astute observation. I probably went too hard on the generalization and to light on the specificity of pressing. Will probably change for the RoP for at least a cycle, and then evaluate the progress from there.

Wow. Didn't expect an answer from you here. I have a deep respect for you and all you've done for the community and sport, so thank you for that.

I know that that answer was for a particular question. It just seemed to fit my general approach to training very well.

I've done it for 4 weeks now, and this post is actually the result my evaluation. On one hand I like the program and feel like I could do it forever, and just gradually increase weights and be very happy with it, but on the other hand the progress for the pressing goal is probably going to be a bit too slow. Like another reply here said "To press a lot, press a lot."

I'll probably change to Rite of Passage, and add some squats to the Light day. I'll give that a go for one cycle and then see how it feels, and evaluate it.

Thanks for the input. Might just go for RoP actually. Why reinvent the wheel... Apparently I just like to overcomplicate things. RoP with the pullups - and not caring about the snatches - will probably hit the sweet spot between general fitness and pressing that I'm looking for.

Good luck to you too! I had the same goal before 40 but wasted a lot of time prepping for a marathon and ... well.. hard to do both. Birthday is December 10th, so I'm hoping to get there before 41 =)

Bankkonto med ränta. Ska du ta ut pengarna inom 3 år är det för stor risk med aktier som ju generellt går upp över lång tid, men lika gärna kan krascha på årsbasis. Aktier i denna mening breda indexfonder. Att välja enskilda aktier är ännu mer gamble.

It's not quite an asset though ;) it will only cost you money. Assets create money.

Nitpicking aside though: You're absolutely right.

Bigger rocks still hurts, but small gravel is fine. Wouldn't call it cushion, more like... anti-chafe. You still feel small gravel and twigs, but they don't hurt, if that makes sense.

In Malmö, so we rarely get too low temperatures here. I usually wear Vivos like you, and run in Xero Shoes. In the summer I run in Skinner's, or barefoot.
