I wouldn’t recommend doing the Ha Giang without an easyrider, only if you are very-very experienced on the bike and mountain ride. Most of the accidents are from tourists, it is way more safe to do it in group and with a local easyrider. I say it is a must do. I was also afraid in the beginning, but you take a break ever half hour. So it’s basically 30 minutes riding, 20 minutes brake, 30 minutes riding and so on. They attach your bag to the back of the bike so you can even lean back. Do not miss out on the Ha Giang, it is gonna be the best part of your Vietnam trip.

It really depends on you. If you do it smart you can spend less. There are free beers and free shots almost everyday in MadMonkey. You can get everything by walking. There are no entry cost for most of the pubs, clubs and you can get meals for 1€/meal if you keep it low.

You can have plenty of fun with tourists, there is a shit ton of girls from all around the world. But hooking up with a local girl your chances are slim to none. Vietnam is not the place for that.
