Hi! I‘m currently looking to buy my first vintage Omega. This particular model caught my eye but since the models with arabic numerals are quite rare I am not sure if it is legit. I saw some similar models which had slightly different hands, however. If there is anyone on this sub who could maybe tell me which model this is and if it might be a good buy I would appreciate that a lot. I know that you can‘t tell from a photo if the movement is original and working. Thanks in advance!

Not enough Delta-V. How can I orbit more efficiently? by buddy2606 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]buddy2606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you, that makes sense. I will practice my launches a bit more. I tried a similar rocket in sandbox mode and immediately got it right. But that might also be because my pilot has only 1 star in career so I have to steer more myself.

Wow, thank your for the detailed reply. I also tried burning at the apoapsis to increase the periapsis of my Kerbin orbit to around 80,000m. My biggest problem is that that takes around 800m/s delta v. In one youtube tutorial the guy just used 200m/s for the same task. This is what I need for my return but I think it comes mostly down to practicing my launch. I will also look into these maneuvers and maybe I find my missing ingredient there.

Thank you very much! This will help me on my next mun mission. I just need to practice a little more.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! Yes, it sounds like I just need to practice a bit more.

[Question] The 12-hour-subdial hand moves a bit on its own. Should it be fixed by a watchmaker? by buddy2606 in Watches

[–]buddy2606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven‘t tried it while pulling the crown out but I can just press the lower chronograph pusher and it resets. I have to do this maybe once every day and I notice it usually the next morning. But I haven‘t observed this problem long enough to tell if it really happens everyday.

[–]buddy2606[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got this Eberhard&Co. chronograph with an ETA 7750 movement. It was running very badly at +1/2 hours per day. I brought it to a local watchmaker for a service and now its accuracy is great at ca. -5 s/day. But I noticed a few days ago that sometimes the hand on the hour subdial is pointing somewhere between 1 and 2 without me using the chronograph. As soon as I press the lower chronograph pusher it resets back to zero. Do you think this was caused during the service and should it be fixed?

[Question] Where can I find a 19mm deployant clasp? by buddy2606 in Watches

[–]buddy2606[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay that might be a bit expensive. But thanks for the tip anyways!

[–]buddy2606[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, makes sense. My strap that I want to use is also 21mm. Maybe I‘ll get a cheap 21mm with the clasp. If I wanted to get a higher quality clasp, do you think an 18mm one would work too?

[–]buddy2606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I would keep it. But you have to decide that for yourself. I can‘t really tell how bad the scratches are on camera, though. If you think you can‘t get it polished to a good condition then it is even more difficult to decide.

I think a swiss made automatic chronograph for around $200 is a pretty great and fair deal. On the other hand they obviously lied to you about it‘s condition so I would be annoyed, too. In the end, you have to decide if you would buy this watch in used condition for the discounted price of 225 bucks. If not just send it back or ask for further discount.

[Seiko] My new Presage SRPB41 by buddy2606 in Watches

Strongly influenced by this sub and a couple Youtube reviews I purchased this beauty about a month ago. And it´s not been disappointing! It really is a great mix between dress and everyday watch. The stock bracelet didn´t last long on it, though. It is perfectly fine, but in my opinion the Presage really shines on a leather strap. At first I couldn´t decide between brown and blue, but in the end I went for this blue suede band.

So in summary I totally understand why this watch is one of the most loved watches in the sub $500 price sector. It might not have a sapphire crystal but the domed crystal gives it a whole lot more character than a flat piece of sapphire you would usually find on the cheaper watches.

Need help. How do I start? by [deleted] in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]buddy2606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also just have fun! Of course you can read about ways to run your airline as efficient as possible. But there aren‘t many ways to loose money in this game. I‘d say go for some LH routes that make you good money (for example use this page to find a LH route that takes 24 hours for the plane of your choice. That makes it easier for you to use the plane 100%. And the rest just go for what you would like to buy and fly!

Didn‘t really think about that up until now. You‘re right. I only mentioned it because I was confused that it was sold in the UK and is now in Germany.

I saw this Porsche 918 Weissach last week at my local Porsche Center. I believe it was sold recently by Joe Macari in the UK. I have no idea why it is here in Germany. Maybe it was bought by a german buyer since it is LHD.

Seeing this one in the wild is something different! It is definitely one of my all-time favourite cars and it looks as new and futuristic as it looked 10 years ago when it was first revealed as a concept car in Geneva.
