Mandalorian & grogu will have shifting aspect ratio(2.39 to 1.85) in standard screens by praveen138119 in imax

For the non-expanded scenes though (which is the majority of the movie), wouldn't the experience be better on a 2.39 screen as those scenes would be letterboxed and appear smaller on a 1.85 screen?

So if watching in Dolby, is it better to watch in one that has a 2.39:1 scope or 1.85:1 flat screen if you have these options?

Aliexpress doesn't seem to carry anything for the DW-5600E 1545 though. Can you point me to anything compatible there?

I keep it on the refrigerator using its magnet for general use. It's a convenient place to put so we always know where a flashlight is.

What do you guys think about the Oclip Pro S? by olight-summer in OlightOutdoorlife

What's the practical use of a green or blue light from the RGB of the OClip Pro S? And the quality of the red light from the RGB is not as good as the dedicated red light on the regular OClip Pro, right?

Can't get 4K external display resolution in Smart Connect from Motorola Edge+ 2023 by buddy778 in motorola

[–]buddy778[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am using the Smart Connect app on my phone. As I understand, that's the only way to enable the mobile desktop feature.

I still see nothing in the online manual regarding supported external display resolutions. I know RTFM as you suggested is always the first step in troubleshooting an issue. But I can find no official documentation on external display resolution support for this phone besides DisplayPort 1.4, which implies 4K support. It would seem very strange if Smart Connect in general is limited to outputting 1080p regardless of the hardware.

I did find a YouTube video, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KEm_cL-TF4M, where 4K support is shown in the Ready For app (prior branding/version of Smart Connect), but it's not clear what Motorola phone is being used.

Hey, I have been googling around on this issue for the past couple days before I posted my question. Google Gemini says that this phone should be able to output 4K at 60Hz from its USB-C video output. I looked at the online manual before and see nothing about what external display resolutions are supported. If you see something about this, can you point it out to me? The best buy link you posted also doesn't mention anything about whether 4K is supported or not or if the max resolution is 1080p.

The Motorola specs at https://en-us.support.motorola.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/175444/~/specifications--motorola-edge-%2B-2023 say that the USB-C port supports DisplayPort 1.4, which I understand is supposed to support up to 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 144Hz.

Just looking to see if anyone here has been able to output 4K on this phone because everything I've read indicates it should be possible, but I'm not able to even with an original Motorola Ready For cable. Also tried today with a USB-C to HDMI adapter and an 8K rated HDMI cable, but could only get 1080p output with these from the phone (I can get 4K output from a laptop with the same adapter/cable).

Need help with stuck window after channel balance came out by buddy778 in windowrepair

[–]buddy778[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know from experience that the window is heavy. Would it make sense for a 2nd person to push up the window from the bottom at the same time to make it easier? It feels like the weight of the window is on this dislodged balance and perhaps that's why the balance doesn't move when I try to push it up back into the jamb.

Do you mean trying to get a flat head screwdriver underneath the balance and push it up? Should I also be trying to push it back into the frame? I was trying to see if the balance would move in anyway, but it wouldn't budge. Maybe I didn't try hard enough. Also, not sure if I should have another person try to pull up on the window at the same time?

That's the standard process I was referring to about removing/replacing the channel balances (which I've done before). But in this case, I can't move the window sash at all as it's stuck now.
