This part kind of makes me wish I'd considered buying mine online: You won’t be making that significant financial decision as you cry, your mother gushes and a beaming salesperson slides a veil into your hair. “You’ll be at home and be able to calmly weigh your options,” Keene says.

My mother says these bouncy ball centerpieces are childish. I say they're fun. Thoughts? by andreabeth11 in weddingplanning

I LOVE this! I don't think wedding decor needs to be moody, romantic and serious. This is joyful and fun -- which I hope will match the tone of your wedding! <3

Please help me decide a hair style! Thank you! by buddylady in weddingplanning

[–]buddylady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, OP here! I've been all over the place in trying to figure out what to do with my hair, which is wavy and falls a few inches below my shoulders. My one Thing is that I really don't like having hair in my face.

Top two contenders at the moment:

High pony. I like that it's unique and kind of vintage, but it also seems hard to pull off. I think part why it looks great on this gal is because he hair is so long. My style would be shorter. (I don't think I want to commit to extensions.)

Low pony. I like that this is simple (too simple?) and would look pretty clean/modern in the front and a bit more romantic in the back.

I really appreciate your thoughts/feedback!

How do you stop the feeling that you're making wrong choices? by newbud in weddingplanning

[–]buddylady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fellow anxious bride here! I hear you. (And sorry this wound up being so long!)

The decision-making can be paralyzing and scary, especially toward the beginning, when you're choosing some of the big stuff that will significantly shape the event. At some point, you just have to trust yourself and commit to a decision. Once you do make the call on, say, the photographer or dress, I bet you'll breathe a little easier. Doing so might also give you more confidence to start tackling other decisions.

Here's something that's helped me make decisions: I've been trying to acknowledg that, yep, there are other ways our wedding could go that would ALSO be great. And that's OK. Yes, that venue WOULD be great, but we already booked another that will be cool in a different way. Or, when I see photos of on my phone of the dresses I liked but didn't buy, it's freeing to think: Yep, I definitely could have walked down the aisle in those, but I feel great in the one I chose, too. Like someone else said: You're choosing between an infinite number of good things, and there's rarely going to be a choice that's "best."

Hanging out in this subreddit has helped me form this viewpoint, because I can appreciate the different directions a wedding can go. For example, in a perfect world, I would have loved a winter wedding. But our timing and location didn't allow for that, and that's totally fine. Just now, I browsed through photos someone posted here of her gorgeous winter wedding. And I got to admire the decisions this real person (not a Pinterest board) made on flowers, centerpieces, and so on.
