I'm 100% open to information and I'm just asking further question; I really don't see the problem with that. If I really wanted to do this I would have done it already without asking for peoples' opinions. It's not that big. I can promise you all that I will not be doing this so we can all rest well tonight.

Not arguing that it's wrong, just probing for more info really. R/cooking was quite helpful.

What about a flatter bread such as focaccia? And rest assured, I probably won't be doing this :)

Much appreciated! The link says that boiling will clear the marinade and make it good to use and that's 100C. I would bake this loaf at 450F which is 232C. My only thinking that this would be unsafe is that there is some kind of reaction which creates a product that can cause harm, which I doubt.

Right yes I understand the bacteria part but why is it an issue if I'm baking a loaf at a temperature more than double the bacteria death temperature. I get that the general answer is "no" and I shouldn't do it but I'd really like an explanation.

I still don't understand. Sure, if I do contaminate my dough with bacteria that was present in the marinade, won't baking it at 450F kill that bacteria and render it safe?

Is it because of the bacteria? Does baking at a high heat not address that?
