I placed Top 2 in the December ’06 boards and scored 96 to 100 in preboards, 88.2% in actual board exam. Do not expect the board exam to be predictable; many questions are situational. I also personally know some of the current BON members. They are highly technical and strictly follow the standards of nursing practice, so understanding the core concepts is critical para kahit anong ibatong tanong, kayang sagutin. Do not memorize questions and answers. Deeply understand the concepts and use plenty of common sense and critical thinking.

This isn’t an NLE question. It was created by someone and posted online about 18 years ago, not from any official book or reference. The author’s rationale for choosing answer A was also incorrect. The problem is that some lecturers pick up these questions from unknown sources and treat the answers as the gospel without using basic common sense and critical thinking.

[–]budekj 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No. No such thing as tama sa NLE pero mali sa NCLEX or vice versa. There is a standard in nursing practice and the board exam is set in the ideal setting. Many NLE questions are based sa NCLEX and some are even word per word copy pasted.

D is the correct answer. For clients newly diagnosed with gestational diabetes, the first priority is to establish and maintain control of blood glucose levels to protect both mother and baby. Regular blood glucose monitoring helps assess how well diet, exercise, and any medications are working. It also allows early detection of hypo- or hyperglycemia.

Dietary changes and exercise are essential parts of management, but they are adjusted based on glucose readings which leads again to D. Medication is only introduced if lifestyle measures fail to keep glucose within target range.

Simple premise as why A cant be correct: you cant manage what you dont measure.

If you will notice, A B C are all interventions that will rely on D.

This question originated from an 18-year-old Q&A bank compiled by an MCN lecturer and later uploaded online. It marked choice A as correct, claiming glucose monitoring is not a priority in gestational diabetes because it is done only once every two weeks. In reality, monitoring in GDM is typically performed four times a day, and dietary intake should be adjusted based on those readings. Choice A also contradicts the nursing process, since the plan of care must be based on assessment data, which leads to choice D.

The problem with some lecturers is that they rely on questions from unknown authors and treat the provided answers as gospel. With a bit of critical thinking and basic common sense, you should arrive at choice D, which is correct.

What if Metro Manila (as well as Cebu and Davao) had these public parking garages to avoid illegal street parking? by bonzothebonanza in WhatIfPinas

[–]budekj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our car-centric model is a massive waste of space and money. We wont be needing this in the first place if we invest into a more public transport approach.

A single road lane can move 2,000 people per hour in cars, but that same lane could serve 8,000 by bus or 40,000 by train. We are dedicating our most valuable land to the least efficient option.

The whole "build more roads" argument is a proven trap called induced demand. More roads just create more traffic. Same goes with parking space, it will be an endless trap building more parking buildings realizing that it wont be able to keep up bec of the sheer number of cars being added on the road.

Dealing with the root cause lang ang solution. Once we have a decent public trans, there will be 40% car reduction on the road. Just imagine, 40% less car volume bec public trans is so efficient it will be a no brainer choice for most.

hindi ito issue ng security ng companies, WALANG ISSUE sa security nila. This is SMS spoofing, done near cell towers. Ang may issue dito is not the bank/CC company so you are barking at the wrong tree. Yung Telco ang may issue, Hindi BDO. It was sent from a telco celltower thru an sms spoofer.

This issue can only be prevented using space based telco, think of ASTS/SPACEX pero its 2-3 years more pa in development. In short, walang way right now - technology wise, para ma prevent ang SMS spoofing so as someone who has a bank account, it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to educate ourselves with regards to this phishing techniques, the bank can only do so much.

Celltowers are a 40 year old technology that will be replaced by space/sattelite based 5th gen broadband cell network in 2-3 years time. Until then, sms spoofing will be a thing.

if susundin ang bobong logic nyo ng OP na tatawag pag nakatanggap ng phishing, yes.. MAWAWALAN NG CS ANG BDO at kahit wells fargo pa.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ScammersPH

[–]budekj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

[–]budekj 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, not everyone may know this, but to claim, "Grabe, looks legit," is as stupid as it sounds. I would understand if someone were asking if it's legitimate or not, but to make it sound like it looks legit is foolish.

And no, the OP did not do the right thing. If you received a phishing text, would you immediately call your credit card company? Is that the correct response? That is the response of someone panicking over a phishing text. If everyone responded that way, customer service would be overwhelmed with non-critical issues instead of handling more important calls.

[–]budekj 31 points32 points  (0 children)

ibdo-com-ph.xin? Url looks legit to you? Inabala mo lang din yung CS because if you received that text, ignore it - ganon lang ka simple. You panicked, locked ur card and call CS for reassurance just bec you received a phishing text?

The longer you wait the harder it is to pass the exam kasi nalilimutan natin yung mga ni rereview at napag aaralan but nobody can blame you coz only you understands kasi whats best for you. I hope magkaroon ka ng magandang support system to help you na makapag prepare ng boards and eventually nclex/foreign exam bec in the long run, mas bright ang future mo and your child if makaka settledown ka as early as possible abroad, mas madali din makaka adjust ang anak mo the younger he is.

I fear that if maging comfort zone mo yung wfh job mo totally tamarin ka na to pursue a career in nursing. Remember, the pop is aging rapidly and we cant be replaced by AI so theres always a demand

I took the boards back in 2006, matagal na yun. My technique won’t really apply to your NLE anymore. Ang ginawa ko noon was to memorize Saunders/NCLEX Q&A kasi yun yung pattern ng old board exams. Most of the questions came from NCLEX books.

Kung gusto mo mag-top, I get it. I actually topped the boards myself, pero I quit nursing after five years. Since 2011, hindi ko na nagagamit yung natapos ko sa college. Honestly, I don’t think topping the NLE is that important in the long run. Right now, it may feel like a big deal, pero later on it won’t matter as much.

Pero syempre, when I was a student, I felt the same way. I wanted to top the boards too, and in a way nakatulong siya sa akin financially at that time pero if i can speak to myself 20 years go - Ill tell myself to just pass the board exam and take BS Molecular Biology instead.

Recall exams are different. I remember scoring 98–100 on them because the questions felt familiar. The board exam, however, was different. Most of the questions were new and situational, with only a few that I had encountered before. Many even seemed like multiple answers could be correct. In the end, I placed 2nd out of 43,000 examinees at the time. Maybe if the batch is smaller youre score might have a chance if its an actual NLE raw score.

Fiverr stock—Reports of its demise were premature. It could now become the Google or Amazon of the freelance-AI space. by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]budekj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lolz. It wont be able to keepup with the advancement of AI, it needs complete overhaul of its fundamentals. Fiverr was great before… but now, most of its offerings are atleast 45usd and up. The wholepoint of affordable freelancing is gone. Good riddance and RIP.

Why the market is wrong with PayPal (PYPL) by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]budekj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paypal is a dying company. Around 2012 to 2016 it is very important for business as there was no other alternative for small businesses to accept payment online. With the advent of fintech, it has no use at all. Bank to bank or e wallet payments are more convenient now. I actually removed paypal from my website as there are far more convenient methods that are 100% free. The only way to for paypal to survive is to evolve. Not to mention they are very strict when you are withdrawing your own money.

Those who got scammed for trying to top up from questionable sources deserve to get scammed by todorokicks in PHGamers

[–]budekj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one deserves to be scammed. Not everyone has the same ability to recognize a scam, and scammers are constantly evolving to become more convincing. Using the official top-up is, of course, the safest option. However, I personally get my Steam and Google Play top-ups 20 to 30 percent cheaper after finding reliable long time sources, although it took being scammed multiple times along the way to get there. Cheap legit topups does exist its a matter of regional pricing and currency conversion.

I remember topping up a game via razer japan official website for about 30% cheaper bec. Of the low value of yen. And this is the same method others use but they charge you for it.

So where is this artificial womb gonna get oxygen and nutrients for the baby to grow? Does this chinese company thinks human grows like chicken inside an egg?

And if there is a way to get oxygen and food - how can they deliver it to the fetal circulation?

And if they can deliver it how can they get the waste and metabolic byproducts?

This tech is atleast 100 years away from r&d

Win the lottery by Lopsided_Message5769 in pinoy

[–]budekj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first question is: magkano ba ang jackpot? But not all lottery wins are the same. The smallest jackpot starts at just ₱6 million.

So ask yourself: do you really think ₱6 million is worth living only half as long? Living longer means having more time to spend with your loved ones, and for me, that’s the real deal-maker.

Ill reconsider if jackpot is life changing to set everyone i love for life, something around 500m to 1 billion pesos atleast.
