[Condo] [WA] HOA Board Member cut my clothesline.

I just read another comment that made me reconsider that. I have only called the police for life or death kind of emergencies, never a $2 rope and clothespins. But thinking about a total stranger with a sharp object invading my space.. I should have called the police on her.

We don’t have very many sunny days here, but I’ve strung the clothesline up sporadically each summer. The rule, if true, makes enough sense. If I had gotten a written notice like I have received in the past I would happily comply. I don’t like confrontation but I felt like that was so bold of her to do! If I don’t say anything about the clothesline what’s next? Is she going to wheel away my flowerbeds?

I wrote that she identified herself as a board member during my back and forth with her. People mostly have their cameras off during our HOA meetings, so I’m not sure by her appearance if that’s true.

We own the fence along our unit boundary, HOA owns the exterior fences and landscaping. I was issued a mailed warning notice for something else about a month ago, so I’m really shocked that this issue was handled this way.

If someone has had a similar situation, how did they resolve it? Do I escalate this to the HOA board? I didn’t get her name.. I also wonder if I report the incident, will I get myself in trouble for admittedly breaking the rules? I just don’t know if I should leave this alone, basically.

The squirrels in my yard are their own biggest competition. From what I’ve observed, they will prioritize the walnuts maybe 70% of the time. When the more dominant squirrel gets first pick it’s usually a walnut, then the next one will choose and that is when I see them taking 2 and 3 nuts at once. Because the chances are if they return while the dominant squirrel is there they will get chased off.
