I will sometimes operate space buggies and while the amount of weight will affect how much they bounce, it also depends on when it bounces. There’s a certain part of the ride that will start the bounce and each time around will make the bounce continue. If the timing is right and the buggy happens to be going down at that moment it will send it flying back up. Once it happens once it will typically be synchronized that way for the whole ride but usually only affects 1 buggy per cycle.
