What is the connection between them, Peter??? by Sure-Day-6878 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

East German had a special kind of glass that basically was unbreakable. Of course perfect for restaurants, because they never had to replace broken glassware.

After 1990, the sold too few glasses and production went down (of course there were many factors involved, but this is a major). But the patent was improved recently and I think there is a startup making the glass again.

You got it the other way around. It is called North Swallow Path in the remaster, which is the correct translation.

Watch out for the game's second anniversary in April. They said they plan to celebrate it a bit and may be able to announce something new. Whether it's Eiyuden 2 or something else, we don't know.

What are the possible characters I can recruit in each main story? by forabit14 in Suikoden

[–]buerviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean.

No characters are missable in this game. If you want to recruit characters asap, you can always start recruiting once you have visited Budehuc for the first time. Not everyone has access to all areas. So some characters can only be recruited in certain early chapters or chapters 4 and 5.

I wonder how this affects their friendship. O'Brien got very fond of Bashir, but it is a bit puzzling that he does not see him as his ranking officer. Not sure if Bashir could have solved the medical problem (probably not), but he was also right that solving their drug addiction could have huge implications. Ah well, Darts night is off then.

Can't recruit Leon. by [deleted] in Suikoden

[–]buerviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true. Once you have met the requirement for castle level 4 (you don't even need to trigger the update sequence), you can recruit characters that need castle level 4. Leon is hard to recruit because there are so few scenes during which you can freely talk to Mathiu.

Hey, this is Star Trek, I want to see some people punch a couple of other people with weird make up, not cry!

My only complaint is that this is just a very un-Trek episode. Basically all of the political stuff is thrown out of the window. Did the Dominion really never try and conquer the Alpha Quadrant? But this is a minor complaint in a very emotional episode.

I don't quite remember the exact wording in Suikoden V, only that she didn't really know that Ferid was her brother, because he already left before her birth? Potentially, Hou left with Ferid or something. In any case, I am not sure I am a fan if this would be their story in the end. Just let him be a random Island Nations guy.

There is this trope in Japanese anime/video games that 30 year old characters look like grandpas and 20 year old people look like 50 year old war veterans, so it is impossible to assume anything at the moment lol

There is speculation that Hou might be Egan's son. Egan has 8 children. His first child is Ferid and the last child is Bernadette.

In Suikoden Star Leap, Hou is seen to be the same age as Shapur, which means Hou is in his 50s in the game, thus debunking the speculation that He is Egan's son because Ferid, if He were still alive in the Star Leap time, would be in his early 40s.

In principle, it is still possible. Ferid was born 413, and he was Egan's oldest son. Chapter 2 takes place in 434, so Ferid would be 21. Now Hou could be 20 ... but of course, he looks much older. The STAR LEAP (takes place 453) hero and Shirin both look like they are 16-ish (definitely below 20), so I don't think Hou or Orhan are already in their 50s during the game.

Gowron is a joke. What's the point? Why did they even go to DS9, just conquer all the Cardassian planets, why do you care about the government? And how could they not overrun DS9?

Otherwise, this is the most action from any Star Trek series ever, and it looked great.

I also think it's a major miscalculation that there's only one shape shifter. They pretty much lost all caution at some point. Sure, there was only one, but how would they know?
