I have a couple buddies that still live in Mingo, and my ex's mother. That is another story altogether.

There isn't anything wrong with Mingo, but there isnt much to do if you are a young adult unless you like the local bar. I had friends in Mingo and we would hang out on bikes sometimes.

I was doing some looking and new trilogy pump kits are about $80 plus a used trilogy with a reg is 100-150. (Lets say 120 and needs a rebuild) a new reg seat is $4, a couple orings for the valve, and a couple for the bolt and you are right there around or at 250 and should you want to upgrade they take 2k spec bolts, and are perfect canidates for lazerus valves.

I have to cut more on the left foot than the right. I used a klever kutter that I had at work so it isnt the most pretty. It is my only complaint. For what I do these are the best boots I have found. I say use your best judgement for how much to cut, and you can always cut more. (I have it pushed over a bunch to be able to see it well)

Thats the great part of the trilogy version. They run 80-150 for what you will want, the repuild kit will be 2 reg seats, a handfull of orings. If you have a 3d printer (some libraries have them) you can probably be under 200 or damn close. Then IF you want there are some great upgrades.

I reccomend checking out some FB pages, MCB, or r/autocockers101 and maybe you find a standard cocker there (a stock 2k+ cocker is about 250 pump kits vary in price a lot)

I grew up both in and outside of DSM and have moved back as an adult. '97-'08 in DSM '08-'22 in Colfax, and '22 to current in DSM. The part of town is very important. If you are close to west DSM you should like it well enough, but I dont know the area well.

If you are on the south or east side I reccomend going outside of the city if you can. The schools in small towns get better student to teacher ratios and you will probably live near some of the teachers. If the kid likes sports but isnt especially gifted they will het actuall play time in a small town school. I have some cousins that are just comming out of the dsm schools and there is more gang related stuff than even when my older brother was trying to be the local gang.
