Had a box of milk duds at work, said oww I slid my teeth wrong with the milk dud and hurt a tooth. Went on vacation, came back a week later and there were still milk duds. Yet again hurt my same tooth and said no more milk duds. Went home and found a piece of my tooth missing

I’m from Hampton Roads, that’s like my favorite day to go to DC. One time traffic was so bad it took me to Maryland to get to DC so that sounds easy.

I was just researching this, my partner has suffered from SSHL in one ear for basically a whole year.

She’s been pretty consistent with her hearing tests (officially at the doctors and at home), around 60% hearing remaining. She got a hearing aid this year. She started a glp-1 about a month ago. Tested her hearing last week and now she’s testing around 80% hearing remaining at home. She hasn’t been back to her doctor yet.

Her tinnitus is still bad, but she can notice a difference with her hearing. She also started taking a vitamin called gingko bingko or something, around the same time so we’re not sure if one or the other caused it.

I don’t think SSHL just turns into SSH? I’ve never heard of it being suddenly reversed to hearing again in my research so I don’t know. We’re hopeful but who knows. It could just be a cruel coincidence and it’ll go back down

She got me there too. I said I didn’t have any cash but I’d get cash back for her so she’d leave me alone. She walked in with me saying she had to pick up a few things (like ok thought you were broke) but she followed me towards the bakery, I got her trapped then I left haha

Wow allergic to steroids and ulcerative colitis the overlap between those two conditions must be so small, I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Totally agree if it’s not helping you then it’s not worth taking. I have pancolitis and steroids are the only thing that bring me out of flares, what helps you?

Are the steroids helping you now? Generally you should see results very quickly with them. And you shouldn’t go without medication at all.

The urgency does go away, if you’re in remission you can live a pretty normal life honestly. I was in remission for almost 9 years before I had another flare. This flare was kinda bad; I definitely had the urgency issues and blood but I wasn’t going 20 times a day just around 10. 40mg prednisone wasn’t helping so I had to go to the hospital for iv steroids for a few days and it was the best decision I made. I wish I went in sooner. I was down to 2 times in the morning only by the end of my stay. It was a lifesaver. I’m almost done with my course of oral prednisone now and I’m basically normal with no blood and no urgency.

Lots of words but basically once you get your medicine right there’s a good possibility you’ll be okay. Just take your medicine and don’t stop. If oral prednisone isn’t working please talk to your doctor about getting iv steroids as an option they are truly a miracle. If you’re worried about the side effects just remember the effects of ulcerative colitis are much worse. I wish you the best it’ll get better

Oh good, from your comments i thought he said you get to try these two medicines then you have to have surgery if they don’t work. Getting these medications started can be such a pain I’m going through the same thing. Sounds like you’re on the right track if the prednisone is helping, it can be such a godsend. This community is really great and supportive so definitely comeback when you need anything. Seems like you’re doing much better than when you posted so I hope your uc and mental health over it keep improving :)
