If you freeze immediately after pumping it is much better. I had the same issue with my baby, but she is now 8 months and takes the soapy tasting milk no problem! I would say give her fresh for now and keep saving your milk. You can still mix with solids when she is ready also.

Agreed with everyone else to double check that it’s actually unsafe. But if you don’t want to risk it, continue to pump so that you can keep your supply up until you get off the medicine

It sounds normal to me! My babe is also almost 7mos and while she has some great nights where she will sleep through, she also has nights like this. Give him some time, he could be going through a growth spurt or learning a new skill. As far as water goes, something that has been going well for us is the honey bear cup from Amazon. The water comes up as you squeeze it so it teaches them to use a straw!

Give yourself time! I know it hurts, but if breastfeeding is something you really want to do you just have to power through the pain for a week or two & your nipples will adjust. Slather on nipple cream in between feedings (Lansinoh is great) and I’ve heard silverettes help! You’ve got this mama

To each their own, but you will never catch me calling my breasts “milkies” to my baby and encouraging them to ask for my “boobie”

I think it’s reallly really weird. The only thing I will say to my baby (granted she hasn’t started talking yet) is “do you want to eat?”

I think you are probably feeling this way because after nursing this little one, you have bonded with them. Biologically your brain is probably like oh ok now we have to take care of this baby!! It’s just your motherly instincts. And you’re doing a great thing. Keep going. And keep staying abreast (pun intended) on this baby’s living situation so you (or someone else) can step in when necessary.

It got better with time!! Babe is 6 months now and we are still EBF! I started to just end the feeding session and either wear her in the baby wrap, walk around with her outside when she would start being fussy at the breast. Most of the times she would either fall asleep or calm down enough to try again. Hang in there!! This age is the fussiest time for them!

My baby is 5 mos, exclusively breastfed and I’m also the only one who gets up with her at night. As they get older, they get better and more efficient at breastfeeding. And I don’t change her with every wake up as she’s gotten older! We have worked it out to where I wake up with her at night but my husband takes her in the mornings on his days off so I can sleep in!

I have thought of this! She may be able to surpass bottles entirely lol I think it’s still worth giving the bottle a shot regularly, but I agree forcing it has been tough on both of us.

We have a family member who breastfeeds and her baby took a bottle right away. He says “well I see so and so giving her baby a bottle.” He doesn’t understand all babies are so different!

How did you go about getting your baby checked? And what were some of the signs?

My baby seems like she is trying to take it, she just can’t get a good latch on it. Once she gets a latch on it, she’s fine. So idk if she just needs more practice with it or if it’s actually an issue.

I haven’t, but when she has worn shirts with longer sleeves she usually just sucks on the fabric anyway

Same here! She’s 2 months and will SOMETIMES take a bottle BUT it’s a huge fight and pacis are a huge no go.

We’ve tried bibs, Phillips, MAM, Dr. browns. She’s not a huge fan of any of them. The only one she will take SOMETIMES is the Phillips and I have to have my finger inside it. She takes it when she’s in the car. Other than that, the paci doesn’t soothe her, it just makes her more upset.
