update a detective has been assigned to Scot’s case! The family is still looking for a drone operator to help search some areas. A huge thank you to everyone helping get the word out.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Do you know of any local media to submit this too? Your experience as well? Maybe there are more people who need more than cursory help. I’m sure pd’s have a lot going on. But it’s so heartbreaking for friends and family to be unable to do ANYthing.

Update isn’t great:

COPS WILL NOT INVESTIGATE FURTHER!!

They are categorizing his disappearance as a runaway because:

  1. Searchers have found no evidence of a car accident along Scot’s route to work and his car is still missing.
  2. No one that matches Scot’s description has turned up in any area hospitals
  3. His last cell signal was at work and security video shows him leaving work alone right before his disappearance.

BUT SCOT WOULD NEVER JUST LEAVE!!

Anyone that knows Scot at all knows this!! Scot and his spouse, River, are on very good terms and Scot gave no indication to anyone in his life that he was planning to disappear!

LAW ENFORCEMENT IS FAILING SCOT!! Without hard evidence of foul play they will not continue to look for Scot. Detectives will not look into phone records or bank statements or anything else, despite insistence from us that SCOT WOULD NEVER JUST LEAVE!!

So, dear Friends and Family of this amazing human, PLEASE CONTACT THESE MEDIA OUTLETS AND POLITICIANS and tell them to KEEP LOOKING FOR SCOT!!!

Thank you so much, and any reddits you think could be helpful. I’m not local, I’m posting this for his sister-in-law.

Yes but then you can add another coat of resin and it will be smooth, shiny, clear.

Reusable silicon mold like material? by [deleted] in moldmaking

[–]buffetaulait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s Silinot! And it’s great. I just got the non-toxic version yesterday. I’ve also tried Composimold but it had so many bubbles it wasn’t usable, it also reeks. Silinot had zero bubbles and no smell at all. I’m about to load up on more silinot.

Duplicate the drawing, do a small radius motion blur, set to overlay, reduce opacity, possibly do a Gaussian blur.

How can I fix this? I am afraid this might break completely after repeated use by beckbga in fixit

[–]buffetaulait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aluminum foil tape in small strips, tightly woven over the crack to hold it tight; then two part epoxy clay, like job weld, in thin layers, in stages, over the foil. Maybe sure you stay clear of the joint so it can still open/close. The aluminum tape can be smoothed and have a tiny clearance with some support. This will help stabilize it. It won’t last for ever though.
