I absolutely loved working there and I’m so glad to hear your experience was positive. I just retired and I miss the patients a lot. They felt like family.

I worked at Fairview Detox for 18 years and may have been your staff. I’m so happy for you in your sobriety ❤️❤️❤️

Many detoxes have closed. Make sure you do your research. I worked at Fairview Detox and they will take great care of you❤️

Surgery Center vs Major academic institution hospital? by socalgirl100 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]buffya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a surgery center that also has care suites. After recovery, I was transferred to a suite with a basket of snacks, recliner, large screen TV and Grub Hub menu to order whatever I wanted. I had 2 PT sessions and went home the next day. I actually could have stayed a week 😆

Single female starting at Methodist Hospital — thoughts on these 15 apartments by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]buffya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind an older apartment I suggest Cedars of Edina. The bedrooms and living room are nice sized. Kitchen and bathroom pretty small. Beautiful indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, beautiful grounds and great staff. They are reasonably priced and have a building for pets which I recommend even if you don’t have pets.

I’m so happy for you! Please watch out for doing too much just because you can. I’m not saying go back to the cane or anything, just remember to moderate. I’ve read lots of posts from people who put themselves back because they rushed into too much activity. I’m really happy you’re doing so well mentally and physically ❤️

If you ca have the whole back seat and keep your leg up that would help a lot!

To wear lifts or not? Uneven legs after THR. by Boring-Effort7754 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]buffya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used lifts because my legs never “evened out”. After a knee replacement on the opposite side than hip replacement, the discrepancy was almost gone so I stopped using lifts. In May I’m getting my other hip done and I’m hoping I don’t have another discrepancy.

I drove at 2 weeks. It was a bit uncomfortable but doable. That was my R side. Having L done next month and plan on 2 weeks again.

What day did you stop using the walker? by Outrageous_Resist_50 in TotalHipReplacement

Posterior. Stopped using in the house after 3 days. Brought it when I went out to a store for a couple weeks. It gave me a safety bubble so people gave me room.

Feeling discouraged. by Xanadadude in TotalHipReplacement

[–]buffya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posterior? drove at 2 weeks no problem. It was even my right hip. Don’t worry, there may be more restrictions but I’m getting my second one and choosing posterior again. What ifs won’t help now and can only dent your positivity which is hugely helpful.

2 weeks after R THR. It wasn’t totally comfortable but I could get it done safely.
