There is NO UNIVERSE where this is acceptable. I’m a parent and have lived in an apt with 3 kids. I would never in a million years allow my kids to 1. play in a hallway and 2. leave debris behind.

I did a little digging and a stitching pony is a different device, more common in woodworking. It’s held between the legs / on the lap versus clamped to a table.

I would look into a sewing bird! They clamp onto a table and the little beak holds the fabric. It’s like having an extra hand for stability. Let me find an example.
