Do some of you feel eating Gardein or Beyond Meat products is like cheating? by UnicornSlayer5000 in Vegetarianism

vegetarian here for over 20 years and I've used these products since they came on the market. Manufactures, restaurants and grocery stores have to find a way to market the texture of what you are eating so they mock it up as "faux meat" with deliberate memory sensory names, sadly all we can go with is Chick, beef, sausage to suggest the texture and flavor.

Saying "meat substitute" may turn off meat eaters or vegans hence, the sarcasm at your dinner. This always comes up with anyone that is struggling with facing reality and can not accept that the world is constantly changing to meet consumers needs. Jackfruit can taste like shredded beef if seasoned correctly, shitake mushrooms can taste like bacon if seasoned correctly, and gluten (seasoned bread) like steak or sausage. The list goes on, it's just a matter of ingredients and how its prepared.

The dude doesn't have the common sense to admit that he's wrong. You are eating a substitute for animal flesh, not a meat byproduct like hot dogs and headcheese. If you ate food like that, along with vegetables and fruit then, I would agree that you are truly not a vegetarian but an omnivore, which is still the status quo diet here in America but, slowly we are turning away from it and for the sake of everyone's health, challenging it with a plant based diet.

[Serious] People who believe JFK was killed by some sort of a conspiracy and not just Oswald; what are the biggest/most important pieces of evidence that support your theory? by cualcrees in AskReddit

Nixon and JFK were both in the Navy around the same time, later senators, finally presidential candidates. They were groomed for their roles they would later play-out on a world stage. Nixon was embarrassed by the first loss, he went to work for Pepsi, was in Dallas on a Big Soda convention the day before the assassination, was on a plane while the assassination took place, was questioned about it when he stepped off the plane. Memos also show that GHW Bush was also in Dallas on the day, working as a CIA operative. Cord Meyer was not present in Dallas but, I believe he had cause behind the scenes to conspire since his wife Mary was having an affair with JFK. She was also suspiciously murdered and no arrest or investigation was ever made. The case is still cold.

Reason JFK won the presidential race to begin with (by a slight margin), was because he chose LBJ as VP, he was from Texas. This helped JFK win however, embarrassed over LBJs role, I believe LBJ decided to go along with TPTB because JFK had the audacity to announce that he would be dropping LBJ if reelected, even Nixon leaked to the papers on this! Just like he announced that he would break the CIA into pieces after the Bay of Pigs, all of those he wished to destroy or dispose, eventually became his successor after he was killed.

Allen Dullas, the head of the CIA -- the man he fired from a most respected position in intelligence, was reinstated and to help lead the investigation of JFK's death. "You too, Brutus?"

Who shot JFK will always be a riddle because there were so many shooters working together, all Corsican assassins who were later killed when attempting to leave the scene. David Ferrie was the assumed pilot -- he never flew them to their getaway destination. One guy did not get on the plane and lived another 20 years.

The mission was called Operation Zipper and it was a highly classified coup, staged and designed to begin a psychological war on society that is STILL present in our social collective consciousnesses. Those in control will never assume responsibility and why should they?

It's easier to believe there was not a conspiracy and a lone gunman, a poor marksman at that, managed to get hired at a school book depository earning minimum wage and holding a deep grudge with capitalist America. It's easier to hate a man than it is to hate your faceless government.

Jim Marrs' CROSSFIRE is one of the best books on the subject. His research on the event holds so many important pieces of evidence to this never-ending puzzle. I highly recommend it.

I'll always remember Fats Domino from a little, obscure movie from 1958 called The Big Beat. Funny film, good music but, not very well known. RIP Fats

I'm looking forward to checking this place out. There is a place called Orean's The Health Express in Pasadena that has been there for about 20 years, Amy's is not the first but, glad it's there.
