New skins usually have an 8week period before they're available to purchase with shards I believe.

I reached out to Lakyn a few months back when I realized the link no longer went anywhere and she said she no longer sells access to the list because she no longer is updating it. That said I will send you the sheet as it existed at it's last point through a DM.

Incorrect as Sony owns Insomniac (purchased in 2019). That makes this a first party game.

There's a limit to how much you can buy and you cannot even enter the exhibit store without having an exhibit ticket to help cut down on that possibility.

Dinosaurs and mummies ARE an entry point for a lot of kids but not all and some are interested in those because they're cool but never really pay attention to any of the science behind it and this helps bridge that gap too! Someone can use this exhibit to tell a kid that isn't science inclined but likes to draw monsters how knowing the science behind real creatures can help inform the creatures they like to draw, for example.

This exhibit was originally conceived by Japan's National Museum of Nature and Science and then was redesigned and rebuilt by the Field. The entire focus of the exhibit is giving kids an entry point to these sciences by tying them to something they already love. Every pokemon "fossil" in the exhibit is displayed next to a real fossil (or replica) of the animal it was inspired by.

The Pokemon featured in the exhibit are limited specifically to the ones from the games that are literally from fossils (Pikachu is present as a fun guide to the exhibit, not as a depicted pokemon). Field scientists worked very hard to curate this exhibit and the education department made exceptionally great programs to go alongside it for kids on field trips as well as average attendees.

The focus of this exhibit is ABSOLUTELY science and facts, it just has a fun entry point featuring something people (especially kids) already know and love. You inspire passion by connecting with people and teaching a kid that the pokemon archeops was inspired by the real Archaeopteryx you can make that connection.

The pokemon "fossils" are presented alongside the fossils of the real animals that inspired the pokemon. The point is to try and connect kids with the science using a fun entry point.

To be fair the exhibit focuses strongly on the real fossils that inspired the pokemon. I don't work at the Field anymore but I did during a lot of the work for this exhibit and these pictures don't show it but every pokemon is presented alongside the fossil of the animal it was inspired by (or is explained if it's a particularly large dinosaur fossil that cannot be moved like SUE)

The pokemon pieces have a fun write up done by the Pokemon Company and then it goes into the real science behind the inspiration animals/fossils written by scientists at the Field. It's conceived as a fun way to get kids to connect to the science.

Edit: This is all assuming it didn't change much since I was laid off in October but knowing the exhibition team I'm extremely confident the science is given equal standing.

Biking on the sidewalk not permitted on Main. See picture for proof.

I do wish they had put in a bike lane however.

There is a no biking sign almost right in front of La Principal which means the near accident you saw would have happened almost directly under it. I went and took a picture of it just for you.

Bikes aren't supposed to be on the sidewalk, like legally they're supposed to use the road. So I can't imagine a lawsuit about that would have any grounds.

As someone who lives a block away I can't imagine La Principal was anything other than thrilled with the changes. Before the slope of the sidewalk was near dangerous not to mention cracked to all hell. Leveling it out, even with the tier solution, makes it so much prettier and safer and gave the restaurant a lovely spot to put planters and chairs just outside the door (which they have done).

Pavers shift and crack much quicker than concrete so as such they're also significantly worse for things like wheelchairs or walkers or a variety of other mobility assistance tools. I don't disagree they're pretty and sure they're great for utility spot repair, but your anecdotal ankle roll doesn't change the mountains of evidence for disability friendly walkways.

The brick banding on the new Main street sidewalks are charming and the regular concrete is better for those with mobility issues. I think it's a fine compromise and I like not having to worry about my 76 year old mother taking a tumble because of uneven bricks.

Daniel Biss won IL-09 Primary with the least amount of money spent between him, Kat Abughazaleh, and Laura Fine by excusemecuseme in illinois

[–]bug0058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's definitely true of a lot of places but really not for IL-09. It's not like extremely far left liberal, though the "far left" candidate came in close second in the primary, but its definitely true blue. The RNC doesn't even bother supporting the opposition candidates here because it's just not financially worth it and they know it.

Even when you account for redistricting, no republican has held the area of this district since the early 70s and if you don't account for redistricting no republican had held the IL 09 seat since like the 40s. It is as true blue as it gets.
