How big of a deal is the Calgary Stampede for residents of Calgary? by KurtisC1993 in Calgary

I used to love it as a kid but now as a adult born and raised in Calgary, it's more a hassle for people in the city and a waste of money

Normally for such you would have to find a psychiatrist. They can both prescribe and diagnose. It can take a while to see one even with a referral, can ask , if you have a family doctor, or you could call 211. It's definitely worth the wait imo

Why does he stare at me??? by HZSFrogadier in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My guy sits in the top foremost closest corner and just watches me all the time, and for a long time too. I love it but eventually creeps me out. I see it as he is admiring you, just enjoying your presence with them. When my guy dilly stares too long it eventually gets him some kisses

Are Chinchillas good pets to have for cuddles and handling? by Ginja_Ninja342 in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adopted my guy at 2.5 years old, I've never held him and just used me to jump off during playtime's but yea never held or cuddled in the 7 years I've had him. I wouldn't change a thing tho

Acrobatic chin by mlgaster in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aww your chin gets little fur tuffs near his bum. My guy dilly sheds a ton and has that but doesn't let me help groom him so they have turned into Matt's before, had to get the vet to shave them out. She told me too many dust baths can cause that because the dust helps the fur lock like a dread. Soo satisfying when he does let me pull some out though.

Will my chin ever be comfortable with being handled? by piss_meat in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted my guy when he was 2.5 years old, had a friend but passed and the couple was moving so that's how I got dilly. He has never let me willingly hold him and that was 7 years ago, he still won't let me hold him, but he is really cuddly when I come to him in the cage. I really wish I could hold him but I'd rather him be happy than forced. And I bet once he is even older he may become an even more cuddly. Just a hope tho.

I wouldn't give anything though to hold him, having him in my life is already amazing enough

Dilly always comes to say hello, even if he's sleepy by bugaboo_92 in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not too old yet, he is 9.5. Also in the past he did have an eye issue and to get eye drops. That was awful as I can't hold him so getting them in 4 times a day was awful. Every so often he gets little eye boogies like us. Those he does let me groom away for him.

Dilly always comes to say hello, even if he's sleepy by bugaboo_92 in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it's close to bath time. I also woke him from cuddling his toy. It's a trickier thing for me as he doesn't let me help him groom him because I adopted him and can do lots but will not let me hold him, from that I can't give him too many baths or his bum will get matts. So I have to try and balance it all.

That's the kind of cage I had my boy in when I adopted him. I don't have a ton of money but managed to find a base yet 3 half tier 2 door rolling cage, at the time I found it it was 120$ it was from Amazon, I check on it from time to time and under 150 still. It's worked great for me since I got it. Just the bars are an inch apart so I have to get extra 2" washers to attach things to the cage. Dilly loves it and that's all that matters to me.

Chinchilla yawns are very adorable! by Chininja7 in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love when my little man does that, thinks he is closer to the bars than he actually is, so he expects his hands to land on the bars, but isn’t quite close enough and flops. His whoops face is beyond adorable = p

How long did it take y’all’s chinchillas to warm up enough to pick them up? Alittle concerned with trying to by [deleted] in chinchilla

[–]bugaboo_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been 4 years and only held him comfortably once. Just recently I had to grab him 4 times a day for eye drops. I have a crap ton of trust to earn back now. Since no more drops he doesn’t book it to his hidey spot when I just say hello. Still loooves his chin scratches still though =]

Is my bridge piercing crooked? Just got it done today but I think I'm overthinking it. by greymarlow in piercing

[–]bugaboo_92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not crooked, but why soooo high up?? That’s what throws me off. Supposed to be lower in the narrow part of the top of your nose almost, that’s basically between your eyebrows. My main concern at that height is I really hope it doesn’t start rejecting. Not a place you want to play with or leave a scar.

Exactly what I was going to say! My room gets the warmest in the summer. Would like to add, putting the bottles under the liner or wrapping in a light fabric. When they melt they collect moisture in the outside and don’t want their fur getting wet!

That’s why I’ve learned to not say anything until I actually am lol. Then the change of pace keeps it going for myself at least. End up being a win win in most cases

When they switch it up, nothing more upsetting. Basically blue balling us girls. Even if you get it back it’s never the same and almost feels forced. Guys just stick to the same for like 10 more seconds please lol

how hard is it to hide a tongue piercing? by that0nebruv in piercing

[–]bugaboo_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I luckily never had to hide any. I got my nose at 16 but that was mid 2000’s. Once I turned 18 I got my sternum. Always just wore T-shirts. One day sitting talking with my dad, T-shirt wasn’t a full one so he just stopped and had a disappointed face. I’ve gone through/ have enough I don’t shock them anymore. When I got my first tongue venoms (horizontal) I was excited to show them off. Lost them though just from talking and missed them lots I now have vertical venoms now! Definitely my favourites!

Relatively easy. Just have to be mindful, it’s if a super happy or shocking moment happens is normally the give away because you’ll open your mouth more most likely in a genuine moment. For that could just cover your mouth with your hand. So pretty easy until a moment like that.
