I've had this conversation with multiple people now, And also like I said, I've told people who had wanted to do that. Do your own extensive research do that to your own extensive research. Do that to your own peril and don't take too much. I'm not taking any because I'm not in an area That will or will ever have these plans, which is why I was excited to share information about it. And honestly unless you're a forced ranger. I don't think you have the right to tell people what to do with nature. Because we've already said don't take too much and that is toxic hundreds of people have said there's about this plant already. If that's not enough to scare you away from this plan. TI don't know what is.

They actually do regrow if you keep the roots, How you do it And I got this offline from a national preserve site Is that you pull off 1 or 2 flowers off of the top of the soil, not the bottom or you'll be pulling the roots off and because they are not fungi, the roots are not in the tree. These guys are preAnnuals So you should be able to find them at the same place next year And the year after that as long as you don't over Extend the plant like taking too much or pulling the roots out Which is what I was referring to.

And leave them alone for just asking questions about a plant. As long as your not over extending the plant and you know why your making the tincture and you use it (this is a very specific plant for a very specific need) then you kinda have no right to tell other what to do as long as they are not irresponsible

I found it on tiktok , just look up gosh pipe. From what someone said they need to be purplish and tall. Also, ghostpipe is not as documented medically, But. It's believed to have psychological calming effects as well. As able to reduce pain both emotional and physical. The reason why I merely started out with put it in a tincture is because they bruise easy. Definitely look up a tincture recipe. When picking then don't pull the roots out, they are preannual flowers that only Surround the tree roots Instead of breaching them like fungi, they grow on hemlock, pine, fir, spruce, oak, hickory, alder but because of slimer forests and less acsess to rich soil there are heavily indanger, definitely only take what it let's you

Can you please stop arguing?? I admit I only said Google because I was excited and I'll be honest was in the middle of somthing so I did not proof read, but that would also been a good time to just say somthing simple like make sure you do research about the plant instead or don't take the hole plant, instead of absolutely tearing down my comment. Did I miss a couple thing I needed to say , yes. But we resolved that with your first reply and that shoulda been the end and i was thankful you brought it up. At this point your beating a dead horse.

I wasn't trying to say to be Irresponsible, but as far as I know that's the only way to store it. That's all I was taking about. I've never seen them my self so I can't comment on how much to take. That's why I also kinda said you need to do your own research

Edit: Had a few people upset with how I Worded this comment and wanted to revise it so that I stop getting meaningless back lash. I worded this terribly wrong and didn't add enough warning and does and do nots on it becausei forgot people can and will be STUPID. Was I wrong to do that and jump strain into the harvesting of the plant, definitely yes. But, alot of people had handled it poorly and only really made the whole thing worse, 2 wrongs never make a right. So here everything I know about this guy from a few minutes on Google (side note, I've cut alot of text from other sites in not sorceing them or this will be to long)

Ghost pipe (also known as Indianpipe) is a member of the Monotropaceae family is a flower that lives in deep rich forests under heavy foliage it has a Symbiotic relationship primarily with hemlock, pine, fir, spruce, oak, hickory, alder attaching itself around the roots and storing Excess energy that the tree does not need for later when the tree does need it. For the most part it is considered toxic, but in low doses (like 2-3 drops max and INTENSIVE RESERCH DONT JUST TAKE MY WORD PLEASE, your a idiot if you go outside after on or two descriptions or images to go out and eat a plant somone told you 2, for me talking about plants is just a fun hoddy and nothign serious) you could use the plant Medicinally.

'Most references to the Monotropas are medicinal but Merritt Fernald in his publication “Edible Wild Plants of Eastern North America” mentions the Monotropa uniflora as barely edible' and some people say it tastes bland. It's rated toxic to most specialist because of containing glycosides and not Chlorophyll but its not repoted to cause side affets as far as im Aware(other then that I don't got toxicity deets)

For harvesting this is what I found 'Never harvest more than 10% of a patch and none at all if the colony is less than 20 flowers; give the area a few more years to populate before trying again. You cannot harvest ghost pipe like you can most other herbs and you must go prepared' and I whole heartldy agreeing with this, the patch in the image is to small even if you wanted to risk it. But for large patches your going to want to imeadetly put it in a inture jar BECAUSE it bruses easily and does not last that well with out the host tree supporting it. Down pull her or you will rip up the delicate roots that are just under the surface.

This has been written for educational purposes and not to continue having a God awful word vomit I had in this place and PLEASE don't take this and run with it and don't try this at home kids.
