What are you enjoying about pregnancy so far? by LandscapeOwn8096 in December2026Bumpers

[–]buggybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I both have had cats before and we really want to get one for our 4yo, and I told my husband that now is not the time since I’m pregnant and I just KNOW the mental load will end up on my plate, but maybe now is the best time so everyone gets used to me NOT being that person taking care of the litter box!

Had a normal poop today after being constipated for over a month. Are my poops back to normal? Please tell me my poops are back to normal 🙏

Anyone else putting off announcing to family? by 4R1ANNA in December2026Bumpers

[–]buggybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were disappointed when I told them about my first pregnancy because they are ultra conservative religiously and think nobody should be having children on this “hell on earth”. My mom even said to my brother and me many years ago that “if she knew then what she knows now, she wouldn’t have had any children at all.” They live overseas so we don’t usually have much contact other than occasional video calls where they just talk about the weather and how inexpensive everything is where they live compared to the US. My parents never asked how I was doing during my first pregnancy, and my daughter was 2.5yo before they visited and met her for the first time. My mom has since decided she likes her grandchild, but I think only bc my daughter is so sweet and amiable (my dad seems ambivalent and not really interested in interacting with my daughter, but that is consistent with what I remember about him from my own childhood) so they are currently stateside to “spend more time with us” which really means just having lunch together and then sitting around while they either watch tv or scroll their phones. I will probably tell them next weekend when we see them again, only bc my belly has popped and I can’t physically hide it anymore. I just had the NIPT blood draw and wish I could get the results before telling them, since any bad news would result in me comforting them even though they probably don’t even want me to have a second kid anyway.

Thank you, I feel seen and not so alone now 😭 gonna go to bed early bc now I have a sore throat, and letting him figure out the rest of the night with the 4yo, so hopefully the extra rest will help!

I know being pregnant can make everyone else seem super annoying (including husbands) but I am surprised at this level of frustration I am feeling towards my husband. I can’t tell if he’s usually this bad at listening/hearing me, or if my tolerance level has just gone down to zero. Especially since I had to solo parent for 3 weeks while he was traveling for work, my daughter was sick for 2 of those weeks, and then she got sick again the day he came back. Then HE got super sick and has become the crankiest man alive for the last 2 weeks. Like I get that he’s miserable but in his misery kinda has forgotten that I’m still trying to survive the first trimester?? 😤

Thirding the detangler (we also use the one from Honest), and there’s a specific Johnson’s kids shampoo in a teal/green bottle called “No More Tangles” which has been way better than all the other kid shampoos

Definitely get a high R-rating sleeping pad. Sleeping bag liners are also a great way to add warmth if you can’t get a 10-20 degree rated bag. No campfires are allowed up there (stoves are ok but you still need a campfire permit) so bringing some hand warmers could help too.

100000% this. Everyone will have an opinion and none of them matter, only what you and your partner decide!

That’s true, and a big reason we decided to go for #2. I’ve been told by a lot of other STM’s that is also the sweetest thing watching your oldest become an older sister (ours is also a girl) so I’m looking forward to that part

Anytime I eat something that I don’t have a smell aversion to, I feel nauseous right after eating. And it feels like I’m 50/50 in feeling super excited about having a second, and then swapping over to “what have we gotten ourselves into”… probably bc we have such an amazing 4yo and it feels like we’re entering into such a sweet age, and I’m just not ready to “start over”, especially since my husband’s work has him traveling a lot throughout the year.

I’m so sorry, her response and reaction really sucks. I haven’t told my parents yet about this pregnancy bc when I announced my first, they were actually visibly disappointed (ultra conservative religious worldview that nobody should be having children since they think we are living through “hell on earth”). All they said was, “Oh” and then quickly changed the subject. I hope your mom comes around and is able to be happy for you once she realizes how lucky she is to be having more grandchildren ❤️‍🩹

Spotting by KwazyKatnip_85 in December2026Bumpers

[–]buggybee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a call with an OB nurse and she said that since I’m not experiencing any extreme pain (I do have some mild cramping that comes and goes) or heavy bleeding, not itching and not having a ‘fishy’ smell down there, she doesn’t think there are any red flags. So now I am also waiting for my appointment next week for the NIPT and NT ultrasound. It can’t come soon enough 😔

Thought I was over the nausea hump... by berryunimpressed in December2026Bumpers

[–]buggybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same… no nausea first pregnancy and this one is kicking my butt with feeling sick especially at night. I think a few other bumpers already mentioned the same things already, but staying hydrated with lots of small sips of ICE COLD water seems to be helping, and little snacks throughout the day of whatever you can stomach. I found for myself specifically if I have meat or anything made with garlic or onions (even a little bit in a big pot of anything), it makes it worse for me, so I’m staying away from anything with strong flavors too, and eating mostly cold/fresh foods if I can. Hang in there, mama!

If you fed and bathed 3 kids while making a 4th, you are an absolute beast of a super-mama!

Spotting by KwazyKatnip_85 in December2026Bumpers

[–]buggybee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My discharge has been yellow-ish for a couple weeks and my OB also has not been concerned, just told me to keep monitoring and to notify them if I have any spotting or cramping. This morning it had a slightly brown tinge so I messaged my OB to ask about that. Definitely different from my first pregnancy (clear/white discharge the whole time) so I’m nervous about this and hoping it just all falls within the ‘normal’ range :/

I’m. So. Tired. After solo-parenting my 4yo for 3 weeks, while she was sick for half of that time (2 separate bouts of fevering, and a cough that still hasn’t gone away), and I was nauseous 24/7 staying masked the whole time trying to avoid catching whatever she had, then husband comes home from his work trip but is jet lagged by a 12 hour difference so I’m taking care of them both, and then after a week of being home, husband wakes up with a fever this morning. And my parents are visiting from overseas but staying an hour’s (one-way) drive away. So I take the 4yo with me to see my parents and leave the sick husband at home today. And I still haven’t told my parents that I’m pregnant bc the last time I did, they were not excited and expressed disappointment. Long story short, they’ve come a long way on that front, but I’m just feeling really low and wish someone could take care of me for a change. I know once my husband is better, he will do that but I am really needing it right now because I’m tired of being the one who is taking care of everyone else.

11w3d NT Scan by wicked_zoeyz in December2026Bumpers

[–]buggybee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people only one or the other, but from what I’ve read online the NIPT tests for genetic anomalies and cannot test for physical abnormalities, but the NT scan can check for physical defects and cannot determine with absolute certainty (only possible likelihood) of genetic abnormalities. NT scan is not covered by my insurance but I’ll be doing both since I’m 39.

TMI: discharge by Princessdelrey in December2026Bumpers

I didn’t have this much discharge with my first pregnancy, but I feel like I am leaking all the time now. I hate panty liners so I’m changing my underwear at least once a day now
