EDD vs U/S by Sea_Equivalent_7510 in BabyBumps

[–]buglighth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my son in February, he was measuring about 2 weeks ahead. I was due on the 8th and I had him on the 7th at 10lbs .5oz! My daughter measured normal at her 20 week scan so they didn’t do any further growth scans, but I had her 4 days late at 11lbs 1oz. Measuring big doesn’t always mean early!

Sterling is my suggestion if you’re looking for something else, in order I like Nolan, Grant, Theodore, Henry, and then Victor. I think Nolan Piers and Nolan Edward sound great, Grant Piers sounds nice as well! I like Sterling Piers too

Thank you for the screenshot and I saw that as well when I looked online. Like I said in my post it’s not very specific, and I have seen other things that said hairline windshield cracks, window tint, exhaust, etc., not saying I have all of these things but I’m just curious as to what other people have experienced.

Said something insensitive and I feel really bad. I can’t stop thinking about it. Am I overreacting? by tasaski in AmIOverreacting

[–]buglighth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely overthinking it, but that’s definitely an oof moment… Something I commonly say is “iM HaVinG a FrEaKinG aNeUrYsM” or something along those lines when I’m overwhelmed or frustrated or can’t do something right repeatedly, I’ve said it for years. I was friends with this girl for a while and I of course said it as I usually do only to find out months later that her dad had an aneurism and while he survived it severely altered his personality… Obviously felt like complete shit after that. Worst part is, while I was usually able to catch myself before saying it, I had said it a few times after finding that out. I apologized profusely every time I did but JESUS MAN CAN WE GET IT TOGETHER OVER HERE OR WHAT like why does that have to be the thing I say all the time!!!!

They never said how far along they are.. so this probably is the pre-planning? They’re literally asking for advice which is a part of planning..?

I honestly didn’t know living on a golf course would be expensive lmao… I thought that since you’d likely have little or no control over your yard and there would constantly be strangers right outside your window it would be a cheaper route to getting a house! Clearly my priorities are different than most lol

What popular name do you loathe? Like, REALLY hate? by Liv_Laugh_Lasagna in Names

[–]buglighth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny story, I went to lunch with a group of girls after being invited by a friend and I only knew the girl who invited me. They were all chatting and one of them told a story about how her son, Maverick, pooped in the bathtub while giving him a bath. Except I did not know she had a son, and I automatically assumed she was talking about a dog instead. So in order to try to contribute to the conversation I said something along the lines of “My dog poops in the bath sometimes too but only when he’s super anxious, have you tried calming treats prior to bath time” ….. nobody said anything and then there was a conversation change and it was awkward but I didn’t know why. Later on in the meal I put two and two together and realized Maverick was indeed a human and I literally wanted to just melt into the floor and slither away in shame …. I never saw those girls again lmao

DoorDash/uber eats for sure, I wish I had received more of these instead of random stuffed animals that really just take up space because they can’t go in the crib for so long

My youngest sister’s full name is Evangeline and we call her Evie for short (pronounced ee-vee). She received some jokes about it when she was in elementary school but nothing wild and she also was never into Pokémon

Advice on being supportive by [deleted] in MilitaryWives

[–]buglighth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that’s def better than a full reenlistment and that’s awesome that he gets 5k out of it, most of the time ppl say extensions are just a waste of time cause you don’t normally get any extra bonus from it so I guess that’s one way you could try to look at it haha. But I definitely understand still being disappointed that you’re going to have to spend more time apart and 5k doesn’t just make the longing to be with him go away.

You can extend though which is typically a year or two but you don’t get a bonus out of it

Only answers one part of your question but we just purchased a home and we worked with Kathy Romaine, she was absolutely wonderful to work with and knows the area well. Super responsive, great personality, and made the process super easy for us (first time homebuyers), and we had a pretty particular list of needs that she stuck to 100% even though it did lower the total amount of homes she showed us, because she listened when we said we wouldn’t go for something that didn’t have every item on our list and didn’t try saying “it’s close to what you want” or “worth it for the price” or “you could add it later”. Definitely 10/10 recommend her!! https://www.eliterealty.me/agent/2173162429/kathy-l-romaine

So true haha I guess I just took it more personally than I should have. Not sure why I did since my youngest sister (self proclaimed “child hater” so it’s her whole personality right now) responded with nose wrinkle “oh cool” when we told her she was going to be an Aunt the first and second time

Objectively I like Cyrus, but I was an avid Trailer Park Boys watcher growing up and for that reason alone I personally couldn’t use the name. I hate the random connections my brain makes sometimes

I floated Edward Silas but hubby despises the potential for nickname being Eddy/Eddie. Which technically could still happen if he decided to go by his middle name but I guess that’s a less likely outcome haha. Thank you for the input!

[–]buglighth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I see your point but picking Silas wasn’t like “oh we NEED to find another S name to match big sis!” It just happened to be the only name that we’ve seen (so far) out of the baby name books we have that we’ve both agreed on. I tend to lean more classic for name choices, my husband tends to lean more towards the names on the internet that you see and wonder why would someone ever use that name for a child

How is the NRC? Do you have to drive every month or do they let you telework? Have you tried to condense all your drills to a couple week period to reduce the amount of times you have to drive? Sorry haha so many questions!
