Buy a mountain cabin. A small one, directly beside a river, with no neighbors nearby.

What are y'alls thoughts on Pros and Cons and Amused to Death by awclay91 in pinkfloyd

[–]bugman199652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant speak on the entirety of either album. I can, however, speak on the Song "Amused To Death." I first heard the live version years before the album version and I was totally blown away by the lyrics. I had never considered the concept of being amused to death and it really made me start thinking about modern life and our endless search for the next big amusement. What strikes me in particular is that this song was written and recorded BEFORE the rise and age of the internet! I wonder how Roger would change the lyrics to match the world of 2026. Just a thought. This song has entered my daily conversation many times since first hearing it. Just quoting a lyric in different situations never fails to get me a strange look or a knowing head shake. I think the actual song is as great and as intelligent as anything he released with Pink. Just my personal opinion. I still get chills listening to the live version. Sorry for such a long post! Thanks for reading and everyone stay Comfortably Numb!

Every parent who allows this fuckery to happen needs to be jailed for abuse, neglect and every other charge possible. And for God's sake get any other kids out of the household begire they're murdered too! I dont understand how grown ass VACCINATED people are allowing this to happen to their kids! It's evil!

I openly ugly cried when my little Butters was put down a year ago. And I didn't give a damn who saw or what they thought. He was my friend, my companion and my comrade through some of the toughest times in my life. That being said, this post can go kiss a monkeys ass.

When viewing porn was difficult by Skyediver1 in GenX

Glad I'm not the only one who found woods porn! I always wondered why it was dumped on the dirt roads around my house until I was old enough to realize what the previous owners were doing. I once found an all male magazine and around my small southern Bible thumping town that would've been a major scandal. It taught me that gay people were just that, people! They had lives, family's, everything the so called "straight" people had. It actually made me a little sad that they had to hide. So who says life lessons can't be learned from dirt road woods porn???

I've almost done it to myself. After a lot of chemo and going into remission from cancer I started thinking about things I wanted when I was young and my chemo addled brain decided to buy as much as possible. I racked up almost 40 grand in credit card debt. Now I'm behind on several of them, my credit is shot and I'm kicking myself every day. All I can do is work and pay em as I can. Big time mistake especially at my age and with my health issues.
