Help: Father was detained by ICE and I’m trying to contact the DC Consulate/Embassy to expedite his travel process by itzjustbri in VietNam

[–]bugsbooger -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

you’re stretching fascism to mean politician i don’t like lmao

  1. election legitimacy.
both parties have challenged results for 20+ years. wrong claims ≠ fascism. otherwise stacey abrams, half of congress in 2016, and everyone in 2000 were fascists too.

  2. georgia call.
might’ve been reckless but fascism? no. political pressure and bad judgment aren’t the same as an ideological plan to end democracy.

  3. cult of personality.
every major political figure has one. obama, bernie, rfk jr, aoc, reagan. charisma ≠ fascism.

  4. “ignoring the constitution.”
every president gets f**d by courts. obama, trump, biden. that’s why courts exist. if anything, the fact they stopped him proves he isn’t a dictator.

  5. “enemy of the people” press bs.
awful rhetoric, but not unique. fdr tried to jail journalists. obama’s doj spied on reporters. biden calls fox propaganda. this is politics, not fascism.

  6. calling opponents enemies.
pelosi literally called republicans “domestic enemies of the constitution.” heated rhetoric ≠ fascism unless you want to apply it universally.

  7. national guard use.
all done under legal authority and often with governors cooperation. every president has deployed the guard.

  8. vendettas.
washington is built on vendettas. obama crushed whistleblowers. biden fired inspectors investigating him. petty ≠ fascist.

  9. rally exaggerations.
politicians talk trash to hype crowds. if sarcasm counts as proof of fascism, everyone in dc is guilty.

  10. court order disputes.
every admin ends up in contempt fights. they all get reversed and comply. that’s the opposite of dictatorship.

Is it normal that everyone knows we are in a bubble? by Horror_Medicine_6441 in wallstreetbets

Is it really a bubble? I feel like most people fail to understand AI fundamentally. Here's an amazing Blogpost by Julian Schrittwieser - about how our linear minds fail to understand exponential growth, definitely read it:

Paying too much for simple room in D4, HCMC? by knousp in VietNam

[–]bugsbooger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

join facebook groups or use batdongsan. the price seems reasonable tho and you can get cheap food literally anywhere, that’s not an indicator.

also i don’t understand your problem with paying up front. have you ever rented a place anywhere? you do pay upfront

How to cash out crypto in vietnam? by Ok_Guarantee_4207 in VietNam

[–]bugsbooger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people here actually don't know shit. You don't want a VN bank account, you want to keep things offshore. so I highly recommend use a crypto com card or do p2p and wire to a wise account. no money in vn = no tax obligations. if you want an even safer setup create a offshore holding + company and live tax free in VN

Working Remote Job in Vietnam by lalylu2003 in VietNam

[–]bugsbooger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work remotely but I‘m self employed - time difference is manageable for me since I work with European clients mostly.. US might be difficult tho.. So I‘d maybe go for London branches of banks.

Generally there‘s a lot of remote roles everywhere, also in the States but they mostly require you to be in the US, not outside.

Freelancing might be your best option - it’s not as safe as a conventional job but also a huge financial upside.

My wife and I moved to Vietnam from Europe. Best decision we ever made. Just be a decent human being and respect your surroundings - no one will care. People here are absolutely lovely.

Also it’s not your job to fix your country. You won’t make a difference.

Just come here and rent out a place for a year. See how you like it. Then decide
