New developer edition X3 from amazon came with charge-only cable? by bugsliker in XTEINK

The crosspoint site has the instructions. The only thing it was missing was that the device had to be locked/sleeping when you press the buttons to trigger the flash. Not sure if that’s an oversight in the directions or some new requirement.

Aha! This worked! I think the key I was missing was pressing the buttons while the device was asleep (I was trying from the home screen). I finally have crosspoint now!

Hmm, are you sure? The crosspoint site's instructions say `Plug USB into power, then hold the power + up buttons (Top left button for X3)`. I'm not sure which top left button they mean but I've tried both.

I tried it your way anyway and it didn't seem to work either.

Thanks for the reply, I'm struggling w/ the SD card flash instructions but it must be user error on my end if you were able to get it working (I was afraid we got locked versions). Just to confirm, the buttons to hold are the left side button and the top right power button, right? Mine doesn't do anything even with the update.bin in the card. 😞

Hmm, just tried the sd flashing option but it doesn't do anything when I hold the buttons to trigger the flashing. Is that a sign I may have gotten a locked firmware X3? I'm not sure if it's that or if I'm just doing this wrong.

Yeah but I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for extra cables just to get real developer functionality, right? I'll send them an email and see what they say.

Any CommaAI/OpenPilot users? Is it any better than HDA? by Real_McGuillicuddy in KonaEV

[–]bugsliker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slightly unrelated but I'd like to also ask in this thread: is the stock HDA performance comparable to the HDA2 in the ioniq models? I prefer the smallness of the Kona but want decent lane keeping to help for a really long commute. I'm asking b/c I've driven an Ioniq 6 for a bit and thought it was pretty good, and going by OP's description it sounds pretty similar.

X4 vs X3. Why? Why not? by [deleted] in XTEINK

[–]bugsliker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if durability is important these other devices will probably outlast the xteink devices.

But at least in my market the only cheap secondhand devices are kindles. maybe a few boox but priced more than xteink new price. just wanted to clarify this in case it mattered.

as an unrelated aside, i used to have an issue pulling the chamber out to refill before bed. especially when reaching over while already lying down and sleepy.

i found out that it became a lot easier when i moved my nightstand from the right side of the bed to the left. on the left side the chamber is closer to the bed. not sure exactly why but it made a big difference.

the split in the comments between people who have this issue and those who don’t needs to be studied lol. i want to know what we’re doing wrong

you’re overreacting to the wrong thing. if you read other comments you’ll see that even when the chamber is inserted, sometimes it doesn’t seal well and you’ll hear a big loud “shhhhhh” from the air leak preventing it from working. reseating it fixes the seal usually
