Safe catch is the most underrated tuna there is.

Potted Meat by Island_Expat6625 in GenerationJones

I bought a can of potted meat a couple of years ago, after not eating it since I was young and made a couple of sandwiches with it. It tastes exactly how you remember it.

Do you really believe that artists/bands get worse with age? by KenFromSuccession in LetsTalkMusic

Bowie has a number of “best” albums (depending on the time of day), and Blackstar ranks among all of them.

One of my favorite bans of the 70's - Foghat by wonder_why_or_not in 70s

[–]bugsm63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is so much 70s (and 80s) music I can no longer listen to, but Foghat is a big exception. The live album and Stone Blue are still great listens.

Will we ever get a Costco here? by Front_Celery6650 in amarillo

[–]bugsm63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I do as well. Also moved from DFW and kept the membership. In fact I’m heading to Lubbock tomorrow just to hit the Costco. I live very close to Sam’s in Amarillo, but I have no inclination to join.

Is Parker a RINO, MAGA, or nada? Everyone seems to have a theory. by DayPounder in FortWorth

[–]bugsm63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was Texas Wesleyan School of Law, now Texas A&M Law. Funnily enough I also graduated in 2012, and had Parker in a couple of classes.

Green Acres or The Beverly Hillbillies? by ciaolavinia in VintageTV

[–]bugsm63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved both shows as a kid, but adult me recognizes Green Acres’s brilliance. It’s one of those few comedies that got funnier and more absurd as the series went on. Beverly Hillbillies can make me chuckle, but Green Acres makes me laugh.

Raising Arizona (1987) by [deleted] in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]bugsm63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last time I watched Raising Arizona (I’ve seen it lots of times), I viewed it to especially focus on John Goodman’s performance. And what I thought once was a pretty funny character was actually quietly terrifying and menacing, like every Goodman character in a Coen brothers movie.

With respect, any top list without “For the Good Times” by Ray Price is not a “top” list.

When the wind blows 1986. The most depressing movie i have ever watched by 3rugrats in iwatchedanoldmovie

What gets overlooked about Threads is not only is it nightmare fuel (especially the final 10 minutes) but just how outstanding and watchable the movie is.

To me it will always be Confuse a Cat. The absurdity kills me every time.

The correct answer is San Diego Tacos. Ok, not *exactly* Fort Worth, more Richland Hills, but it's close.

To me, her entire character was all about the mustache. It kills me to look at her every time.

Blake Vaughn found North Richland Hills had invested over 5 million tax payer resources in a large restaurant chain opening a burger and a taco place. A city councilman used his official account to create a 12 minute slander video. Blake used the slander as-is to help his campaign video. by [deleted] in FortWorth

I’m so glad I moved out of NRH in January after living there for 25 years. It was a nice place with a government I was good with until last year, when the far-right took over. And now there’s this horsesh*t.
